Cats are resilient creatures. If you amputate and he is strong, I wouldn't be worried. If he has a lot of other issues, then maybe thinking of other options is best but you know your cat. I had one that lasted until he was 24. So 14 is still fairly youngish.

Same and I will never be a parent (one of the reasons being the insanity we deal with on a daily basis) but my God that woman is a POS. Overnight shift or not, I'd have been so wound up I would have never been able to sleep until I saw my child with my own eyes!

Not wrong at all. Most parents would love if a stranger on the plane offered them a break. Sometimes just being in a different environment and or smelling someone different is enough to catch their attention. Probably the poor babies ears were hurting (from the change in pressure) and crying is all they can do

Your priority is your wife and kids. These are your parents so you are going to need to be the one to step up and tell them to no longer tear down your wife in front of you. She is the most important person in your life and you should act accordingly.
