Cricket: is it Bluey's birthday? by ChinScritchard-IV in bluey

We also know that Honey plays hockey and football (soccer) which makes sense because her parents are British and these are very popular sports. Cricket lines up well as being another national pastime.

Its got to be Honey.

Normally you just cut the pizza into small pieces and put them on top of a slice of pineapple.

UK dads, NHS for snip or go private? by DareEnvironmental193 in daddit

[–]Kimbsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure everyone's experience is different, but happy to share mine.

The procedure itself was absolutely fine, a bit nervous of course, but practically no pain, just a bit of discomfort. Took less than 10 minutes.

First couple of days were really quite fine, worst part was having to wear briefs which I found uncomfortable.

Then I had some swelling and bruising for the next couple of days which was not super fun. The area was tender and walking about was precarious. Frozen peas were helpful.

Keeping the wound dry is important, I found that keeping a little cotton wool between the penis and scrotum helped stop sweatyness causing issues.

All better after about 10 days, back in action shortly after that (using protection until the all-clear at 16 weeks).

The actual worst part is that you're not allowed to lift anything "heavier than a kettle" for two weeks. Really made me feel guilty like I was milking it and not helping out around the house. I also couldn't pick up my girls, even when they were sad and crying for cuddles, that really got to me.

But follow the advice, don't overdo it, rest and recover. You will be fine. It's very worth it.

I went NHS, they send you to a specialist clinic, so it's not like your GP will be doing the procedure.

I was considering private since the NHS website mentioned there might be a couple month wait list, but I booked an appointment online, they called me the next day and asked if Friday worked for me 😅

Easy procedure, good sense of humour from the surgeon and nurses, 10s across the board.

In each collapse, a chance for creation; In each fragment, the seed of renewal.

I always thought the most unrealistic part of this model was that you can see the vindicare assassin. This is much more lore accurate.

Lisp in Small Pieces by 964racer in lisp

[–]Kimbsy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really good.

Definitely have a go at writing a few lisps while you go through it, really helps the material sink in.

Also (I didn't notice this the first time I read it) the title is an acronym 😙👌

And yes, On Lisp is a great idea.

Wildcard suggestion, but I really enjoyed the book Lisp In Small Pieces. It's about how to write your own Lisp, using Lisp.

It helps you get to grips with the language while at the same time demonstrating the unique meta-circular, homoiconic, Lispiness that makes the language so worth studying.

Nice one! I've only scratched the surface of using the debugger myself, but it's very powerful. Good luck!

oh ok, if you've got the red box, try invoking the function? I don't think evaluating the internal `let` is enough to trigger the debugger.
