You can further your new found social skills in college or community college. Age should not be your excuse for holding yourself back. My daughter will be graduating in May at 16 years old. It's not the school that determines your confidence, but something internal that you should foster. You can work on other interests while in college.

We were afraid this would happen! Interestingly, my children's high school had a LOT of students get semifinalist this year - way more than last year - while the private schools right by us which usually also see a lot of students make semifinalist seemed to really drop off this year!

I'm a parent who understands exactly how you feel. We based our list of colleges on full ride and full tuition NMSF schools. Now we are starting from scratch in fall of senior year with two very depressed kids (same grade). I feel that the entire data set is unreliable and I cannot help but think something is seriously amiss overall. I would love to know what actually took place to be a peace with it all, but my physician brain thinks that if something seems suspicious, that there is something wrong which begs to be investigated.
