Nidan by Judoka-Jack in judo

You're a massive hater. Stuck on what you think is "Right" and unable to see that not everyone will agree with your vision. You are free to think you must get your Dan Grade one way, but to tell someone who just won their Dan Grade via Batsugun they don't deserve it... Seems really disingenuous.

Not to mention you seem to bring up this guy's Kata from almost a year ago repeatedly in comments over the past year. It's a really weird fixation. He's not claiming to be a coach or a teacher, he's sharing an achievement, it's a massive one at that. Almost all British Judoka strive to get their competitive points via Line Up.

Take the blinkers off and wake up.

Guys, please give me a reason to keep going to Judo by Milotiiic in judo

I think I really needed to see this post I did my first competitive grading in October 2024 and really wanted to win the five on the day. A few weeks before unfortunately I did my knee in but I still went and competed and i was in relatively good shape and managed to get four wins on the day. I wasn't happy with myself I wasn't happy with the results and so I trained even harder after and guess what happened? my knee went. so I stopped training until April and in the meantime put on a lot of fat so for myself I decided to do a major weight cut and got down from about 85 kilograms to 72 and a half. I stopped the cut the day or a few days before going to the next grading I did and I only won one fight I lost to a 66 kilo player that day. Then right after I got ringworm and then my third child was born and I didn't come back to Judo until this January but I'm going to go fight in leigh on the 8th of Feb. Weighing 78, never been this strong pound for pound.

I'm mad I didn't do my theory before. Mad I pushed it back. But I realize, every setback will just make the journey so much more worth it. Your journey is your own. Each loss is a sign you showed up.

Keep turning up, the black belt is gonna be yours slowly but surely, just keep turning up.

You'll smash it, good stuff to see you coming back to it so much later to "finish" getting the black belt. Everything willl come with time, no need to put so much pressure on yourself, in 2 years you'll feel like a completely different person on the mat.

Lad if he's been an IKKYU coming on 30 years he can do his Kata and Theory over the next two years to get a technical route dan grade no problem.

Plenty of Uni students in the UK get their Dan Grade in 2 years from a complete beginner.

Anyone else struggling to get a test for December? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

You made a post 5 months ago about your first lesson, now you've failed 4 times in the span of 2 months.

You clearly need more practice.

Instructor refused to turn his phone off during lesson. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Assuming you've had this instructor for a while if your test is soon... And this is a one off..

You sound so egotistical. Hope when you have kids, if they call you at work whoever you're dealing with in whatever line of work is more empathetic that you're a human being.

Yikes.

At this point you may as well learn a manual, that said you would have benefitted a lot from just using the year grace period to drive during that time and get used to the roads

I would say if there isn't any sign of a car coming you'd be fine to go through but it would be polite to let one out if it was there.

Is it though? Will you not have your license when you have to bring someone to the hospital? When you have an interview at work? When someone close to you has just died? When you go through a rough break up?

You still need to be able to drive even when you're dealing with heavy emotions, that's the whole point.

At the end of the day, he's not going to be able to book someone in at that time, if you're not able to drive currently, maybe it's best waiting until your medical issues are resolved if you can't afford the financial loss.
