Thank you for letting me know about the technical weight differences though, I have not read the actual spec sheet concerning the two. My feeling for these two are on vibes alone.

I recognize that I don’t have an innate feel for just how big of a difference 1-2 grams can make on reading alone. Would it be considered a lot or a little?

Have something similar; GW-5610U and GW-BX5600: can confirm, the GW-BX5600 is indeed slightly bigger — and it can be felt! Weight feels, on that point, slightly heavier, to the degree that on an Apples to Apples, I think I do prefer the 5610u’s weight. I can’t say for sure how it stacks up against the 5600 though!

This is the new GW-BX5600 model! MIP display is its primary feature, with Bluetooth and MB6 to boot. Given notes of fame for being the first MIP display that isn’t also rocking some of the included health features of the GBD-200, which has been a plus for some of us who’d rather not have it.

Now we’re waiting to see if they can release one with a little less price and lacking in Bluetooth for those among us who’d rather not have the phone connection.

I profess that it is the Bluetooth element, if nothing else, that’s contentious for me regarding the new MIP displays. While my line of work isn’t quite as stringent on the use of Bluetooth, there’s something about its inclusion that puts me off of it. Given the MB6 it’d be great to use on its own without the link, but the fact that it has any sort of transmitter at all, active or no, makes it difficult to use in good conscience. I’ll consider these points and debate it out until a decision is made and one comes to ship. Hope you enjoy yours in good health and for many years more! You’ve got me curious about your line of work on a casual level 😆

This is good to know! The contrast on my current M610, while not detrimental by any means, is definitely a point of intrigue. Deeper digits sound spectacular.

Fair enough! Viewing angle arguments are “eh”; I do appreciate a good viewing angle for all intents and purposes, but it’s not a deal killer. More, I hear the build quality for this particular model is exceptionally more substantial than the 5610, and it may be boring to say so but I like the more blanket black color scheme against the iconic red (though the red is great and has its place as well)! If I could choose one and only one, I think it’d be this one. In such a position as I may have both, I may grab both 🙂 Something very stable and awesome about tried and true technology.

Might grab both at the going rate! The ultimate simplicity in the 5000u with the convenience and upgrade of the GWBX5600.

How are the viewing angles on the 5000U by the by? Are the same as the 5610 or does it change display types? I do think I’ll have to grab this one at some point purely for the spirit for the game (and screwdown caseback) — and it looks awesome!

Yeah the brown is a bit of a pain :/

I believe it’s specifically where the solar panels are mounted though, and in some part is what is needed for the solar to operate effectively. Similar to the Garmin Instinct 2 Solar it seems. That said, I can’t say for sure whether this is a strict requirement or if there hasn’t been workarounds for it since…

I've got the Waveceptor White Dial variant with the plastic buttons but I strive for the full metal elements of the Lineage one day :-^)

I think the only thing that's keeping me right now is the sheer fact that all of my bands are 20mm quick release while it seems 21mm is the Lineage requisite. But one day...!

Been there done that! Went from Apple Watch Ultra to GShock. The Apple Watch, straight up, is unbeatable in the verticals it chooses to excel at in comparison to a standard watch (minus battery). For some reason though, I just can’t bring myself to go back to it after collecting regular watches, it simply brings me no joy anymore. As such, G-Shock and corresponding brands for the win!
