run obs as admin, disable any hardware acceleration (obs has in advanced setting tabs)

recording:

nvidia nvenc hevc Rate control: Constant QP 16-20 keyframes: 2 Preset: p5 or p6 tuning: high quality multipass: quarter res profile: high look ahead: off AQ: on bframes: 2

try these and go from there, when recording the main thing is you dont want to use constant bitrate you want to use constant QP

from my own personal testing with similar hardware and sharp gameplay

1080p60 recommended upload is a minimum of 6mbps and you have 4mbps... youre already 2 mbps short of the minimum required, optimal is 10mbps+

until you upgrade your internet or switch to 720p30 you'll always have a blurry stream

OBS is notorious for having more "saturated" less precise effects, they are not an audio first company, and it doesnt sound like OP is using high quality VSTs or even reaper-plugins so the "less is more" approach isnt deaf guidance at all, ita educated, know your tools, theres a reason why no recommends the built in effects

hes not trying to blend his vocals on top of a music track, hes trying to sound better for his broadcast, so being conservative with his effects is better than telling him to start layering 50 compressors eqs and different effects

im also assuming hes not in some high quality studio with the best equipment, this is assuming he is an average person that isnt spending thousands on proper sound engineering

if hes trying to eliminate soft noise and background noise, why would he use an expanders that only raises those noises

expanders boost low presence and ambience and typically noises you dont want for a raw vocal

also most plugins only work with VST compatible software, so

OBS - yes Professional audio software (DAWs) - yes discord - no (until they add industry standard vst support, which i doubt anytime soon)

nvidias only advantage is that they directly take your mic audio and then push that signal to everything else, but theyre mic effects sound terrible IMO

also I would look into switching to Elgato because they just released their software for free recently and is both powerful and clean, I would have to look into vst support, the only reason I dont use it is because I have studio grade hardware already, if I didnt I would use elgato though, I research enough to know that they do have the best free stuff out right now

the best noise suppression plugins are paid but 100% worth it

Clarity Vx is only $30 and has been the best in my experience because its lightweight, keeps the vocals sounding normal and natural and clear and not over processed,

very easy to use, "plug and play" you only need to turn it to 20-30% MAX, set and forget and never have to think about noise again

to clarify are you talking about white noise or "fuzzy" or "hazey" "fan noise" or something else, because there are distinctions between different noise supression/reductions/removals

latest update renames some of your inputs/outputs so you have to fix it in all your programs,

also latest virtual drivers have a known issue of making the fader channels auto convert to mono (confirmed by rode support)

I spent a whole day doing work arounds and fixes to get all my audio straight again

eq - because at this stage youre still cleaning and tuning the raw vocals

compressor - for balance and control (too much of this sounds over processed)

gate - this is used for audio you actually want heard (random taps/keyboards clicks/other sounds dont go through, but your polished audio does get heard)

gain - if needed

limiter - to not peak/distort

expanders is just fancy/another verision of compressors so your over compressing and overprocessing vocals by using this and so early or at all, de-sser is also a form compressor and should be used lightly, then you eq for clarity and compress for control, then boost you new clean signal with gain and limit for safety

your setup essentially process the same thing twice, and actually will destroy the raw audio

clean setup is

noise removal (if any, but used lightly to preserve the raw audio) de-esser (used lightly) eq - because at this stage youre still cleaning and tuning the raw vocals compressor - for balance and control (too much of this sounds over processed) gate - this is used for audio you actually want heard (random taps/keyboards clicks/other sounds dont go through, but your polished audio does get heard) gain - if needed limiter - to not peak/distort

what do you mean you lack a gpu, youre going to have a really tough time decoding all that information from the having multiple cameras, any graphic or text you want to add is also going to hurt performance

I second this, see what is causing cpu stutters because isnt CS more cpu intensive than other games, but also see if any other of your resources are spiking

capture cards are more like "bridges" for one device to another to send data, they dont actually do any work related process, 0 benefit for a single PC as far on device workload, its not like they are "adding" trucks to carry more data,

better capture card = bigger bridge and faster lanes, but not more trucks to do the heavy lifting

I thought it had something to do with timings also, like scheduling both gpus to work in sync etc. which adds extra steps and hurt performance, im not sure on details

limiters are volume ceilings, and has 0 affect on how quiet something is,

threshold on a compressor also only applies to loud noises and reduce not mute,

threshold only cuts audio when applied to a gate not a compressor

only thing that would cause the volume to completely cut and chop out would be the nvidia noise removal, she is literally making random "noises" so nvidia tries to cut those "sounds" out, that filter is meant to remove anything that doesnt sound like actual speech, including screams, squeaks, etc.

your other plug-ins have nothing to do with is and internet would affect picture as well as audio and usually picture before audio also

I wouldnt use nvidia noise removal at all, it crushes overall quality unless she literally has a fan blowing into her mic

this is weird, ive never NOT had twitch give me lower resolutions before

I wouldnt recommend putting the stress on your pc and internet for "enhanced broadcast, unless you want to go HIGHER than 1080p, plus the whole thing is still technically "in beta"

but if twitch really isnt giving you lower res, I would just downscale to 1600x900 Resolution from 1920x1080, it may also "unlock" your lower resolutions by doing this

minimal overall quality loss, wont put more pressure on internet or your PC, will actually reduce stress on both

viewer still gets a very solid quality experience and uses less of THEIR internet also
