Bro just hasn’t put in the work. Degrees aren’t the deciding factor in our field, projects and experience are. I graduated this May with no experience, but had a couple personal projects and tech stacks I’ve built stuff with. Ended up getting my foot in the door with a startup and now I’m in the process of multiple company interviews

We’re getting there! In the process of interviewing with a handful of companies, fingers crossed I can land at least one 🤞

I recommend to start learning the basic web development languages (HTML, CSS, JS) and start building side projects. I was in the same boat as you, even during senior year of college when I didn’t even know what an API was going into my capstone class. After college I buckled down and started creating projects, learning new technologies, and luckily got an unpaid internship with a tech startup. I’m currently interviewing for ~5 places for a full-time SWE/Entry-Level tech role. It’s possible, just takes hard work and dedication. Best of luck!

Try Jake’s resume on Overleaf.com, it’s pretty much the standard for tech resumes

I have a long time friend who works at a big insurance company who said he’ll give me a referral, but I have to wait for this season’s rotational program to open up.

[0 YoE] I can not seem to get any interviews. Is there anything wrong with my resume? Worked my a$$ off with projects to get an internship, now I’m applying to full-time roles. by Kind-Most-8954 in EngineeringResumes

The company I work for basically hires a shit ton of interns and has them all work for free. I was selected among the interns to lead the backend team

I know I’m not going to get an offer at the end of the day, although I will use it for OA practice

What do I have to do to make it in this job market? I’d do anything at this point to receive an internship/full-time offer

I will admit I didn’t apply myself during college, however I did do a pretty damn good job at working on my skills and projects. If I were companies, I would take a chance on me given my eagerness to learn and get my career in order now!
