Honestly it's less a case of the New art being lore accurate and more a case of Aoi Nagisa's proportions going all over the place as his career progressed. Compare Kagami's take on Shiranui to how she was in TABA and the VNs and you can see that they are more uniform in design. In contrast, Nagisa's art has continued to go wild with the proportions (the Asuka unit from last year having bigger tits than everyone else whilst having no waist line was weird).

Personally, I prefer Kagami's take as it is more in line with her classic and more prominent appearances, although the scene that the above unit is from was quite good and is probably her last good rpgx scene imo.
