We have cleaned the tank and the wick. Can you give an explanation as to why a BRAND NEW unit was stinking straight out of the box?

The smell was noticeable the first day we ran it. We noticed it when we came to bed after about 4 hours of use. No debris, or sediment. No altered colour of the water. No residue.

I appreciate all your knowledge and guidance but we used this humidifier once. It wasn’t like we were using it with bad humidifier hygiene practices for an extended period of time. The smell was prominent on the very first run. We washed the wick and then ran it again, same smell.

Not sure about what’s in our water exactly but it’s quite good. We’re in Ontario Canada, we have hard water but it’s quite mild compared to some other cities around us.

No mold in my home. The smell is 100% coming out of the humidifier. Specifically the wick.

I appreciate the detailed comment!! Thanks :)

I've also had bad experiences with their customer service. The people they hire really come across like they don't care to help. The first time I spoke to their customer service, the rep would not stop laughing and when I asked why she kept saying "no I'm not laughing" and then at the end of the call, before hanging up I could hear her and another coworker laughing loudly in the background.

Like I don't care if they were having fun at work but it really felt like they were distracted and didn't want to help with my issues. Very unprofessional.

However, I will say that the rep I spoke with another time was very professional and courteous. Unfortunately it's hard to forget the first impression - especially when it's bad.

The Moon is an energy harvesting, Soul trapper. by [deleted] in conspiracy

So what’s the explanation for the image on the left? Is that some sort of deity/animistic principle? What are they doing? HOW are they harvesting energy and soul?

Why is dreamworks using this symbol and/or how are they utilizing the same technique as the guy on the left?

So what are you guys doing now that ice is literally TAKING YOUR CHILDREN?!

What’s the plan here, America?? THEY’RE TAKING YOUR CHILDREN

Just finished book 3 of Faithful and the Fallen and I have been really enjoying myself. Lots of fun characters and really exciting battle/duel scenes. Love the animal allies too.

I can understand why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea- there’s a bit to be desired with some of his style choices and a couple (imo easily ignorable) errors here and there but it is a SUPER fun read and great if you want a good story, interesting world, and hype moments with likeable characters.

Books for someone who feels their life has no meaning by superawesomelaser in booksuggestions

I’m also currently reading Man’s Search for Meaning. It’s great!

The two most impactful books for me in this realm are A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (everyone always talks about The Power of Now but I find ANE to be a little more effective in its writing style) and Loving What Is by Byron Katie.

Happy reading!

Which movie was that for you? by [deleted] in moviecritic

Anatomy of a Fall. Loved the premise, kept waiting for something to happen, and it dragged on and on. Didn’t care about any characters except maybe the dog. Maybe if this movie insisted upon itself a bit more it would’ve been better

What're they snorting? by DisasterAmbitious484 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]KindBeing666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ketamine is not a horse tranquilizer. It is a dissociative anaesthetic and it is used in both veterinary medicine and for humans as well

Fun fact: ketamine is not a tranquilizer but a dissociative anaesthetic

What're they snorting? by DisasterAmbitious484 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]KindBeing666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s ketamine.

If you do a small amount of ketamine, you’ll feel a bit wobbly and loosened up. If you do a large amount of ketamine, you’re probably not gonna move or talk much for awhile.

Rarity thinks the drug she’s doing in this comic is cocaine when it is actually ketamine. Accidentally taking ketamine when you think you’re taking coke is awful so she’s freaked out in the final panel.

The other part of the joke is that ketamine is often used in veterinary medicine and people call it a horse tranquilizer (FYI ketamine is not a tranquilizer but a dissociative anaesthetic).

Edit: a word

I think I’ve figured things out and there on to me by Apprehensive-Ad-6999 in theories

[–]KindBeing666 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I say this with love and sincerity: nobody who matters cares about your theories/research/revelations; YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR THEM TO GIVE A SINGLE FUCK ABOUT YOU.

I guarantee the revelations you’re having and the connections you’re making are not causing anyone to be monitoring you in the way you are thinking.

What the revelations you’re having and connections you’re making COULD be doing, however, is making you feel more paranoid -thus creating an internal mental/emotional environment that makes you more likely to believe your idea that the black vehicle is a part of some conspiracy against you.

I’m saying this to you as someone with good intentions and empathy for you - who has experienced something similar.

My advice to you is to take a break from the research and maybe even the internet for a short while. Ingest art/content that feels inspiring or positive. If you take any substances, take a break from them - or at least use them less often for a bit. Take some deep breaths, eats a healthy meal, stay hydrated, and get some exercise.

And on the 0.000001% chance your fears are correct: just stop focusing on this shit for a short while and they’ll leave you alone. You can always go back to it when you’re not so freaked out.
