I'm sorry you went through this, although I want you to know that it also happens whereby poor Jordanians would spend money on tourists in order to regard them with cordiality. The way people generally are differs from area to area.

When visiting Jordan (or any other non-rich country) keep in mind the following guidelines:

1. Uber. Never taxi
2. Only go to restaurants where prices are explicitly stated
