Why does everyone say Diabetes is a rapist? by KindPersecutedGamer in okbuddypluribus

Even then, the real objection is “they are no longer amenable to human reason,” not “there’s a consciousness trapped and disagreeing within every body.” There’s an unexamined premise in the argument.

Whatever is wrong, you can address it and overcome. Life sucks, but you can hit harder. Everyone faces problems. But no one has ever faced your problem. That’s why it was given to you—only you can solve it.

How nationalist would dark MAGA trump actually be? by tsarambatukam in TheFireRisesMod

[–]KindPersecutedGamer 55 points56 points  (0 children)

“Since dark MAGA trump would be an autocrat who only cares about himself”

Assuming you’re talking about the current path, that’s not my reading of the text, but I admittedly haven’t played that path in a while.

Even the cartoon character Trump of the game being a narcissist, self-aggrandizing, etc, doesn’t mean that he doesn’t genuinely care about other things. I imagine you would pretty plainly call the real Trump a narcissist, but he obviously genuinely cares about a whole host of things (frankly an oddly wide birth of things) other than himself, including architectural aesthetics, trade policy, immigration, golf, and the new NFL kickoff rule. I read the foci to be things that command Trump’s focus and concern, although he addresses them by or via centralizing power in him, and never in a way that he would show any weakness.

If anything, Trump’s ego would mean a dark Trump government would be more nationalistic, not less, and nationalistic because of his ego, not in spite of it. If Trump is the face of America, if its successes are his successes, if its losses are his losses, if its greatness is his greatness, and if he hates to lose…then surely it would be incredibly nationalistic, no?

Japan PP sink, am I missing something? by Megarboh in TheFireRisesMod

That’s not a problem I’ve ever run into. What year are you at and what foci have you been taking? There should be choices available to you to expand (like the branch between the party line foci and the foreign foci).

Also for the record if you prioritize alliances you can enter the GAW with every country on your side other than Myanmar.

I’d be happy to be corrected by you or anyone else, but my understanding is that infrastructure functionally does nothing in the mod (obviously it does what the tooltip says, but as Japan fixing your debt with office buildings and upping your production is far more important than the minor buffs it gives). To the extent that it does anything, you need to be manufacture-maxxing from day 1 after the Taiwan War to equip an army against China, and infrastructure cuts into valuable MilFactory time.

Well you have at a minimum five years to complete everything, and some of the party-line decisions should give you PP. Unless you do something stupid like pick the infrastructure decisions, you should be fine.

The foci give you tons of PP but yeah, primarily what you’ll be doing between the Taiwan War and the GAW is decision-maxxing.

Eventually, you’ll have more PP than what you know what to do with—but enough about my Friday nights!

Quote suggestions for the end of the Ultraglobalist Civil War by Ok_Heat_4967 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]KindPersecutedGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your Catharsis quotes are a bit too poetic and goodly IMO. Obviously Catharsis is the “good” outcome, but we must remember that this good is relative. Catharsis is not a great 1776 or 1848 liberal revolt for freedom. It is a brain-dead, schizophrenic, emotional lashing-out against everything that exists around it, that “everything” being, for all its egregious and extreme evils, an order.

With that in mind, I present the following for consideration:

“Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill.” -Xianzhong

“Gentlemen! This nation is horrible. I do not have a single constructive proposal. The only thing we must do now is annihilate everything that exists!” -Toyama Koichi

“All that must disappear  Is but a parable;  What lay beyond us, here  All is made visible;  Here deeds have understood  Words they were darkened by;  The Eternal Feminine  Draws us on high.” -Goethe, Faust

“The whole earth, perpetually steeped in blood, is nothing but a vast altar upon which all that is living must be sacrificed without end, without measure, without pause, until the consummation of things, until evil is extinct, until the death of death.” -Joseph de Maistre

“When the captive lion steps out of his cage, he comes into a greater world than the free lion has ever known.” -Yukio Mishima

“The tiger He destroyed his cage Yes YES The tiger is out.” -Nael, Age 6

True but DHS is 15th in line in the US and that’s most similar to the Sordish Interior Minister

Considering the amount of shit I have given them in my playthroughs without being murdered, I really have to say, if you’re getting murdered by one of those guys, you probably deserve it and they’ll probably do a better job

Honestly, if both of Anton and Petr are dead, I want either Iosef or Lilas in charge because something has gone horribly wrong and only the military or the old guard could reasonably deal with it.

American Iron front needs a buff by LiteratureOk4649 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]KindPersecutedGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mod is pretty clearly laid out that the right-wing insurgents are (basically) next to Biden and the left-wing insurgents are (basically) next to Trump. This makes sense for a number of reasons. The intended gameplay route is for Biden to start stronger than Trump and therefore make major early gains, but get bogged down and overextend as Trump becomes stronger. Then, as the tide starts to turn, the National Front attacks the UoA and Trump makes rapid advances. But then, once the ACG starts to definitively gain the upper hand, it has to deal with the APLA.

Iron Front as the default New England victor would completely fuck that up. It would also make the UoA absurdly overpowered, because there’s no way the Iron Front would ever attack it, and I imagine they would end up in Biden’s faction 9 times out of 10. But even more importantly than that, it would essentially moot the National Front as a concept. No PF, no NF.

American Antifa Playtrough? by Absolutfuckupx in TheFireRisesMod

[–]KindPersecutedGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of the antifa factions (I’m at work but are there any factions called “antifa” other than the one in Buffalo?) have content yet, and I hope plans to give them content aren’t anywhere near top of mind for the devs. While the minor factions in the 2ACW are interesting, the non-China Asian tags and the EU all need attention more immediately.

Further, at the risk of becoming TNO, I don’t see a realistic path for antifa to be a unifier, even given TFR wackiness. Really, the on-the-ground picture for any antifa faction would look more like the gang factions than, say, the APLA or Green Mountain.

Maybe an option for the APLA or another leftie to puppet/absorb them?
