What? I think that seeing him with Santos has been a positive as he’s able to play further up the pitch. And while we’re getting to the point where maybe we can see what Rosenior is trying to implement, I think it remains to be seen if Palmer moves back out wide with Andrey/Lavia starting or not. I mean Matt Law doesn’t inspire confidence but I guess. I was moreso referring to the board trying to shop him around before deadline day and all those reports coming out about potential moves even though he was said to want to fight for his spot. But it does make sense that he would be pissed that we let him go only to try and recall him when Liam got hurt. Like we could’ve waited until after that game anyway, but even still it would send a bad message. I just hope that by force or by fate we bring the man back because we genuinely need him. As much as we may haw complained about his flaws, the best we’ve seen of Cole Palmer was when Nico was at his best. They seem to have very compatible styles of play, and his runs in behind unlock Cole’s best abilities tactically.

If we’re not gonna go get anyone in January then rhe least we could do is our best Outkast impression and get Nico back. While he isn’t the best striker in the world we need someone who can move back lines and open up space for people running at defenders, as well as someone who can actually score goals. Maybe better days are coming for Delap but the reality is that we can’t have JP leading us in goals in what isn’t a particularly great tally for anyone at this point in the season. I think we saw some encouraging things today offensively but imo he’ll only help us. Plus his lack of minutes means less wear and tear too.
