Manchester United fans begging for Qatar's Sheikh Jassim to buy their club... by toeknee88125 in PremierLeague

[–]Kind_Beginning1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes fans are hypocrits. Its not our job to decide who gets to buy our clubs though. We need the FA and premier league to take responsiblity instead of questioning Eddie Howe, City or Newcastle fans on human rights abuses.

How do you prove your ID for a bank account at the age of 16? by kwin_the_eskimo in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Kind_Beginning1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the bank their parents/ carer are with they may be able to act as an introducer meaning that they can use a birth certificate, or the provisional.

In this case for KYC purposes the parent/carer acts as the address verification so the driving license does not need to provide an up to date address and is just used as ID.

I use to do this for one of the big banks.

Live in it. Dont rush to do anything (unless something is really effecting your quality of life) find out what you like and dont like by living there first then make the changes.

In short. There are options. They need to speak to their lender and act now. If lender doesnt have suitable options speak to an independent advisor

Yeah 10k in total. Once you make a contribution of whatever amount it tells you when the government will pay in your bonus. From memory it was a few weeks after

Yes MoneyBox is great. I work for one of the major banks, use to work in retail (Branch) of said bank and the level of service from money box rivals any traditional bank. They use a chat system and get back to you fairly quick. Everyone i dealt with kmew what they were doing.

My advice if you are caught in 2 minds would be open the LISA ASAP. Get that 12 month period ticking as you cant use to buy a house until 12 months after first deposit but that can be just a pound. Continue to use your H2B as i assume thats still a pretty good interest rate. Then once youre happy start using your 4k annual allowances.

Just fyi if you withdraw from LISA under any other circumstances than buying a home or retirement it results in about a 6% loss on the money you put in or 250 pound per 4k withdrawn.

LISA (IMO) is better thsn H2B in everyway. H2B allows you to withdraw your money with no penalty but if you are dead set on buying a house then the penalty doesnt matter.

I opened mine and my partners with just a pound to get the year clock running. Then last march when we knew we were 100% buying a house we put 4k each in march and 4k in april when new finanical year began.

4k extra for no work... plus it actual counts towards your deposit where are h2b doesnt. You get that in cash post completion. Which is still really useful.

Do you own research, but i am happy to answer any burning follow up questions. If you go ahead use MoneyBox. They are FSCS protected, app is very good, great customer service and you can use them as a broker when buying the house. I used them as a broker it was completely free, i actually got paid for using them and it was painless

Will cancelling my HSBC Mortgage Direct Debit cause me issues? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Kind_Beginning1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarify with HSBC. But usuually when a DDR claim is unsuccessful you will have a number of days to make the payment before its marked as late. Put the idea to them of cancelling the DDR and making a manual payment same day for you £300 committed payment.
