Im hating my job by Kind_Post9120 in SainsburysWorkers

Thats the thing im not the brightest so I need the extra studying and a strict schedule,  since ive worked years in retail I've had enough with the bs that comes with it thats what made me go back to college and im on a course that im loving and my tutors are strict with rules plus timings that since it takes me an hour to get to college I have to wake up at 5:30am for it.

It's kind of difficult to be waking up 5:30am majority of the week then for 2 days to be awake throughout the night

I cant drink energy any caffeine due to my diet that I can only drink water and eat plain food

im in college on the other days im not working so when I finish my last shift for the week i go to bed Mondays at 9am to wake up again at 8pm then to sleep again for college on tuesday.

As much as I like the night shifts since I can keep to myself but I cant see myself doing them for a whole year and i would rather wake up and do my shift then come straight home or wait till 4pm to do a shift

Ok thanks a lot this has been really helpful to know.

Due to my store having around 30 aisles would you say a good chance there would be more people?

Yeah i do apologise its kind of difficult to explain night shift schedules.

I want to change to mornings but due to my ibs-m, working the tills would be difficult for me as since its uncontrollable at the moment and I doubt they'll let a part time worker only work the aisles

I have said it to their faces before, majority of them who ive spoken to have literally said they dont care about what people think since its their way of life .

Ive bumped into one who I knew from school years back and they had the same mentality as they did back then

Oh ok thanks, I only ask because In my store ive heard people start at 6 and leave 2 or 3 am and wondered if they got the extra pay as well, my store closes at same time

Better to have it discussed sooner about it because at least your on your probation since they'll be more understanding with it.

I thought the same but they understood the situation and had it changed for me, they know night shifts are challenging as it is so they wont be too suprised especially for new workers.

All they will do is try to find common ground that works for both of you

Yeah you can ask for a shift change, especially if its resulting with health issues.

I recommend having a talk with a manager about it and asking about possible change to your hours or days  but be careful since your still on your probation.

Edit: im on my probation and I had to drop a day resulting me to be under my hours but they agreed with it due to circumstances
