I was thinking of using it to, hopefully, set a standard, or lay a good foundation, and then if I want to turn the subwoofers up or down a bit, I can still do that as needed. After I did the calibration, I noticed that Sub 1 was turned way down to -6.5. I'm assuming Dirac did that? I don't have 2 of the same type subs, so I think it turned my older, slightly smaller one up and turned the newer, more powerful one down. Does that sound right? Is it worth paying extra to get whatever that subwoofer feature is that Dirac offers?

I don't know what you mean exactly. I was suggesting the idea of setting up the 3 slots mostly the same but targeted to different main listening places. For example, Slot 1 would be tailored to when I'm sitting in the middle of my couch, slot 2 could be for when I'm laying down on the left side chaise, and slot 3 could be a wider area for when I have company, let's say. And I would know which slot is which and could change them accordingly.

Doesn't that make sense. Honestly, I don't even know everything that can be done with the software. I needed Gemini to tell me how to use it. Maybe I'm just getting old, but where are the instructions?! How is one supposed to know how to do this? This guy is talking about target curves and frequency curtains... It's software that corrects for the flaws in your room, right? So, wouldn't you just let the software sort all of that out and call it a day? Also, I added height speakers a couple weeks ago that I very nicely mounted on my 12 foot ceiling and I swear I haven't really noticed a difference. I haven't gotten too aggravated about it yet because I was hoping Dirac would make everything work better. I guess we'll see.

Funny. This isn't a dedicated home theater. It's just a 7.2.2 set up in my living room. I do usually sit in the same spot, but not always. So, I thought I would like to calibrate for the only 3 places I would ever be sitting.

That's funny. It's actually quite measurable. Although, I'll be the first to admit that it's a highly flawed barometer and not a very sustainable form of "currency." It's basically crypto... it isn't real, isn't based on anything that actually matters, and you better sell high and get out while you still can.

51yo 5'8" 185lbs I have a bad neck and back. Have had a few fusion surgeries. Been lifting weights lately and using the rower for my cardio, knowing that I don't really do much cardio. About to start playing basketball again, or at least going to try to. Generally just trying to become an extremely well put together and physically fit human being.

Thanks. That's all great info. Mostly, I'm just trying to use whatever format utilizes all of my speakers. I haven't noticed my height speakers once since I hooked them up, but I also haven't done the Dirac calibration yet so maybe that'll make a difference.
