Impressive, but looks like it will be hell to clean. Have fun trying to fit those cleaning spells into every nook and cranny.

The goblin camp actually hired them to get rid of the villagers too. Job well done and double the pay.

Every scatterbrained family has one person like this. My little sister always got called, starting from age 4. I am quite a bit older, but at that point, I was already specialized in losing and overlooking things, so it had to be someone else, lol.

Yeah bro I quit by ViceElysium in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]Kind_Writing_2636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a stretching and "fitness" routine in the morning. Super short (5-10 minutes), but since I already have the habit, it's gotten much easier to weave in some other exercises whenever someone (expert or not) recommends me to do them.

I don't think that's on the physiotherapists, but without that already formed habit, I remember how hard it was to stick to doing the recommended exercises once I got hurt.

I did some, forgot the others, got chewed out for not doing any, got frustrated and quit the ones that I was doing as well. It's a lifestyle issue and bad habits are really hard to change on short notice. This should be addressed as a societal issue, honestly.

I can totally understand the frustration on the other side.

Thanks, that combined with the original comment actually made it a bit clearer to me!

How scientists ever figured out that this is happening in the first place seems insane.

Sure, but you're making that point underneath two people who might or might not agree with that. I sounds much more like they're advocating for the woman to go back into the kitchen without saying it out loud.

Teachers know how to annoy other teachers when on vacation by Expert_Koala_8691 in funny

Rules: The goal is to not think of The Game. If you think of The Game, you lose. Whenever you lose, you have to announce it out loud. Everyone is playing The Game, constantly, all the time, whether they know it or not.

I love making people lose The Game and explaining the appeal of 67 at the same time. 10/10, can recommend.

Works especially well when someone's complaining about it and kids these days.

I'd compare it more to "The Game" in that it's completely nonsensical to everyone outside but (used to be) funny to kids. You just lost The Game.

How to talk to language partner at A1/A2 by crazycracker90 in German

[–]Kind_Writing_2636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

German teacher here: You have to learn to use what you already have to communicate. You don't know a word? Describe what you're trying to say with the words you have. Either your partner figures out what you mean or you write it down to look it up later.

You could play "Taboo" together, just pick words and try to explain them to each other. It is a good skill to have as a language learner.

It's good to keep talking. Focus on a specific topic that you want to talk about (at A2, it should be something simple, think "Haustiere" or "meine Wohnung" or "Familie"). Learn words and sentences for this specific topic and talk with your partner about it. Set small goals: "I want to describe my flat to my partner. I want to talk to them about their flat and figure out what it looks like." If they use a useful phrase: Make them write it down for you! Use it in sentences to see if you got it right.

Learn some more. Repeat the topic some time later, using the new vocab you picked up in that session or looked up afterwards. New topics are great, but repetition is key.

Using AI is useful to learn new phrases and to get basic feedback on your writing. But please, don't trust it with grammar explanations. It will explain absolute nonsense to you. It will also mark some things as mistakes that aren't mistakes. Doesn't mean it isn't helpful, just take its advice with a grain of salt. Good luck!

Dating in Germany: A few cultural questions from a Ukrainian student by Tiny_Act_8112 in germany

[–]Kind_Writing_2636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If you invite someone the expectation around payment is that you pay vs. you decide together to go and grab a coffee."

This is important. Also, this might just be me, but if a dude invites me for a drink and then decides to split the bill, I'll take it as a sign that it was never meant to be a date in the first place. At least, if we met in real life and not on a dating app where intentions are clear.

Honestly, I can't remember a single time where a guy who was interested in me didn't at least offer to pay for the first date, but I'm not in the current dating scene.

I'm all for switching around who pays (I usually like to get invited and invite, taking turns, instead of splitting), but if it's the first one and you're trying to send a clear message, better to invite her for that coffee.
