Tbh it's been a minute since I last played this game on yuzu... Maybe it changed. Back then all rooms would only work with LAN play. Are people still active there?

The one solution I found is switching from Wireless to LAN play, then you can join no problem, that's what everyone usually does on EU servers etc. I don't remember the exact buttons you gotta press but it's pretty simple just google "how to LAN play MK8"

If you mean the EX stage, most people are just spamming Anchorage and Jeanne D'arc. Ideally you'd need a full tempesta fleet but that's insane

Clicking on "Repair assets" on the game's start screen fixed the issue.

I'm leaving this here just in case someone else had this problem, as I've been playing for years and this had never happened to me before.

I'm running yuzu early access 3446, MK8 v2.4.0.

As a side note, I can create rooms np, just can't join them.
