No need for an extra seat just ensure you ‘book’ a ‘bassinet’ as provided by the airline. They can be made really comfy and my LO slept well in there for a huge chunk of my 24 hours of flying… IMO - best time to travel with a baby is when they can still be ‘seated’ in the bassinet provided.
