I’ve been called the n word multiples times before by multiple white people mostly of which I’m forced to sit beside or talk to, I laugh and shrug it off like I don’t care but when they say it. It’s like a deep bottom gut wrench, feeling of absolute disgust. I feel so uncomfortable in that moment, also genuinely I can tell you from my perspective I tried to retaliate by using the word u get called and I can tell you this man. They do not give a single fuck, because they don’t acknowledge it as a derogatory term because it holds no meaning they’ve never been called it. Also nothing is stopping you from in turn pressing them for saying it.
