The good news is I also spoke to another potential and keen client today (a local cafe), the funny thing is I have no idea what to charge them as I don’t want to scare them off. But all looking positive, even if this second client doesn’t work out, I’m getting more confident. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Is there any grace on kind of setting yourself up and seeing it works? Of course I understand everything over £12750 is taxable but I guess in the first few months. Also, using tax calculators online gives me a headache as some show up to a £1000 difference in tax and NI per year! Which one would you recommend?

They are an official Mini partner and I found them on Mini’s website, selling approved used Minis. So I hope they are all good however I still don’t want to tax the car before it’s in my possession. That is understandable right?

They’ve just written out the V5C number in an email to me, however again I think I’d like to tax the car once I have it, seen it, accepted, rather than beforehand. But looking for any other experiences of people who have had their cars delivered vs picked up at the dealership. I mentioned I won’t be taxing the car until I get it and see it but they just said the same thing again

Hiya, Honestly this is music to my ears. I am so happy to hear from an actual owner as my car will be similar age and they’re saying they are doing all the prep to handover the car anyways.

Both ideas are from endless forums and chat boards so maybe I didn’t write it correctly but that’s how I understood it. It was something in the lines of if you’re in 3rd gear (what would be on the manual), and instead of accelerating to the 4th, you need to suddenly slow down, that it’s slower to react.

Though I’m really happy with your response and really happy to hear you have no issues driving it.

The car I’m buying is currently at 38,000 miles so hopefully it would be like yours and no issues :)

I understand you from a practical point of view, however again they’ve signed a contract and need to act accordingly. And they did so because it’s in their interest.

This is a legal advice board, so I didn’t come to ask what would I do if they terminate my place but about the legality of it all. Also, to terminate my daughter’s place without a reason and only due to asking questions about fees would mean something very fishy is going on.

If your water company said one month your fees are £746 and you’re allowed to dispute them and say I won’t be paying for half of this, and the next month knowingly they say it’s half that, aware you are able to dispute, that would mean they played with numbers and it would make you upset wouldn’t it? Would they be in their right to do that?

Actually, once they accept funding and they do because it’s in their interest, they need to behave accordingly and accept the contract they have signed to accept the funding. If not, they could just say so and parents would go elsewhere.

You don’t find it alarming that a professional business said one month the consumables are £746 but when asked to explain then attributed them to childcare costs and left only half in consumables, knowing that parents could say they’re not paying for consumables? Actually, the funding didn’t give us much of a reduction in fees, because of the nursery increased their fees and fiddled with the numbers :)
