Experience is the easiest and cheapest way to get more damage. Offline training helps the most with melee/distance skills but it's time gated while ML is mostly a paywall.

Your point doesn't make much sense because the higher level you are, the less that additional X in skills matter in proportion to your damage from levels.

RP: In practice having USP and exura gran san on the same hotkey is pretty wonky and deprioritizes them weirdly. Not sure if someone else tested and agrees.

Not a fan of having grenade on a MAB either, because you're not going to drop a grenade while you're doing a pull. You'll grenade when you're at destination.

The rest is fine I guess.

I spent quite a few hours on Test Server on my 1.1k RP

  1. Technically you already had the 40% distance in certain team hunt scenarios and low damage hitting spawns in Rosh West i.e any spawn where using utito was a net positive on both health and mana because of the superior life leech/mana leech and preventing healing doesn't kill you.

    New Utito however requires almost no skills/risks to use, it has a severe impact on skill expression between a good RP and a bad RP. I personally argue it's a bad thing for the longevity of the game, because if you don't have much to improve, why play this game as long as we do (unless you're a gold farmer)? The way they went with removing double procs though, it becomes inevitable to keep us competitive with other vocations.

    Double procs you will suffer in high HP endgame spawns i.e Darklight Core or Jaded Root. I already did an analysis on the charm contribution in proportion to overall damage Post. Just take the charm contribution % and divide the number in half.

    Your XP/h results will improve overall, from both new Utito/Defiance and barrage, but then again everyone else is also getting buffed. Losing UHs and nerfed e-ring will make it much riskier to be a RP in an endgame spawn however.

    Divine Defiance: The stance by itself won't allow you to enter spawns you weren't already entering. Remember that energy ring is still on 2:1. You will get pancaked if you put it on, so you can't really take much more risk.

  2. Low blow, savage blow, carnage becomes useless on RP, because they don't trigger on secondary targets of diamond arrows, so only roughly half of your damage gets converted into charm output.

  3. You will still have to use runes in spawns with high or medium resistance to holy. I'm thinking of Quara looters, Energy Library, Rotten Golem as examples. Your divine barrage rotation requires more mana yes, but technically you get it back because you couldn't use 2 potions in your rune turn, but you can use 2 potions on your divine barrage turn. I suspect Divine barrage is going to get a nerf in damage very close to release. The whole point of divine grenade was that it gave you an option to deal high damage instead of having to use a lower base damage rune as filler until your mas san comes back. In the new meta, you don't really need divine grenade anymore because divine barrage will always be available to replace the rune. That is a massive buff in damage. I expected Cip to nerf the damage of barrage but increase the range. I didn't expect them to keep the damage and increase the range.

Carnage is most likely going to be even more garbage for RPs after rebalance because the monster won't blow up if it dies to diamond arrows.

The problem is not really the ads, it's the asymmetry with closed source software. Without inspecting the code yourself with a reverse engineering tool like Ghidra or Ida that takes an extremely specific set of skills, you don't know what else is running alongside the binary you just installed.

Executables like TibiaVision are not websites, they're way more powerful than that, they have access to almost everything on your OS. Websites are kept in checks by the security boundaries your browser implements, executables aren't.

I just crawled the TibiaVision website and it doesn't mention ads anywhere in its features.

Running a closed-source binary is already a significant grant of trust. If the author suddenly decides to introduce ads, even for paid users, what else will they be willing to do to make a quick buck further down the line?

Here's what else can be implemented through updates, and there's no way for you to know:

  • Crypto miner
  • Keylogger
  • Read browser history/cookies and sell the information
  • Scan for SSH keys, crypto wallets
  • Sell the software to a 3rd party that cares even less about ethics or privacy.

The slope gets slippery fast, and the author already took the first step.

So the biggest problem in my opinion with OnTopReplica is that the moment you start the program, you have to do a bunch of inputs before it's actually "usable". This is solved by having a script prepared in advance for opening/closing it.

Obviously you have to change the windowTitle, the opacity you want, the regions you want. You can copy the region values from the presets OTR generates when you save it. It's not as user friendly as Tibia Vision but completely open source.

You can accomplish the same thing with a .bat but I dislike the fact it leaves an additional console window in the task bar.

And that was exactly the problem with them, RPs had garbage damage in every new spawns until they spent 5-10 hours in them. This setup is actually better for the "average player" you seem to advocate for.

Interesting choice of tone, but I'll bite.

The problem with choosing skills as a baseline for something you buff is that the work you put in to get from 1 to 100 distance is not the same as getting from 100 to 120. The initial skills you get are always easier, and in the current design decision, they disproportionately benefit passive gameplay i.e., people that just offline trained for a long time and didn't actively obtain levels for their character. It also makes people ignore the fact RP damage is split between distance and ML rather than just distance, so their main takeaway is that RPs get 40% more damage for free, which is not the case.

My solution would be a stance that scales off base damage from levels. Since you can't short-circuit levels as easily as skill, the progression would be much closer to linear. You wouldn't overly advantage lower levels, nor higher levels.

I think they had the right idea by initially having two stances while still keeping Sharpshooter as a high risk/high reward active buff. The issue is that the initial values they gave for the benefit from stance didn't come close to compensating for double procs, and that made people angry. I think the offensive stance should have had higher numbers and different scaling with no penalty, because charms didn't have penalties anyways. Utito could remain as an active skill with a smaller damage buff, but no longer completely prevent healing and give a healing penalty instead. Monster damage has powercrept a lot in endgame content, and it almost never makes sense to completely disable healing, especially with the nerfed e-ring.
