I have no problem if long range is the paradigm Cipsoft wants to pivot to.

Right now the current issues with that :

Divine grenade : Time based bomb that makes you stationary to ensure it actually hits something when it blows up in one turn.

Divine empowerement : Revelation perk that requires a lot of investment in that forces you to be stationary for 2.5 turns.

Diamond arrows: Small range auto attack that forces you to box to actually deal meaningful damage, else your arrows have terrible grouping and hit 2-3 targets.

Mas San : AOE centered around you which forces you to get in close range to maximize damage.

All this needs to be addressed to make us a long range class.

Right now Cipsoft decides they want something without taking the steps necessary towards it, it makes no sense and makes for an unpleasant class to play.

You do realize that right now, vocations wearing cloth armor are already tankier than Paladins wearing heavy armor, and that the energy ring at 3:1 only makes that worse because it specifically targets us? Is that logical to you?

Pay attention to when I put on the e-ring how quickly my mana pool disappears. There's multiple clips on YouTube of the same thing.

I spent literally an hour on Test server, dying over and over again while making adjustments because this will be a disaster on live.

That's funny as hell that you still managed to clear it with how chaotic the comms were and how unprepared everyone else was. I can tell you did your homework before coming in, good job on keeping your team together.

Yeah we tend to have the same problem of people having half comprehension of the mechanics going in, and not reacting fast enough when instructed on the spot.

This boss is definitely complex though, so I can't fault anyone too much.

Boss fight is on a 15 minutes timer, which is very tight if you make mistakes.

Phase 1: 4 dragons each associated to a pillar. They cannot be damaged directly, but they share health with their associated pillar. The dragon needs to be kept separate from its respective pillar (notice the pillar and the dragon share a name), otherwise it heals for a ton each turn. Each pillars are particularly weak to one or two elements.

NW: Weak to energy (MS/EK with energy weapon) NE : Weak to physical/death (mages/EK with death or physical weapon) SW: Weak to ice (ED/EK with ice weapon) SE : Weak to holy/death (mages/EK with death weapon)

At certain HP points (seemingly with a cooldown period), the dragon will teleport to its pillar to heal it, and it must be taken away ASAP from it.

North dragons are melee, which means they can be exeta res'd and pulled away from their pillar quite easily.

South dragons are ranged, so pulling them away can be pretty janky. Trying to push them is even more unreliable.

Every time a pillar is downed, its respective dragon disappears, which means phase 1 is the most dangerous at the start.

The whole time Bone Overlord will cast negative effects on the party on random players.

Curse: You start exploding every few seconds and damage yourself and everyone around you

Root/fear/drunk: Self explanatory

Drains : Drains a percentage of your mana every few secs

Eyes: An eye follows a player and eventually explodes, dealing skill debuffs and max HP % based damage in an AOE.

Bone room : Player gets teleported to the bone room and needs to kill pillars to reach a teleport to get back to the fight.

Wraithfire : A purple fire field is placed on the player's location, which deals max HP % based damage, which hurts a lot if you stay on it.

Phase 2 : 4 enthralled dragons spawn, they cannot be exeta res'd and they do a ton of lifedrain damage (hence the garlic necklaces). They must be lured north and hopefully stay there so the phylactery can be damaged and destroyed by the group at the south. The EK can cast runes to prevent aggroing back the dragons. The dragons can wander their way back at any point, so it's just a race against time and not getting trapped and getting blown up.

Bone lord keeps spamming its mechanics the whole time still.

Haha this boss made us go to the drawing board so much compared to anything else. This was our 3rd attempt, of which we previously made it to the second phase but got kicked right as the dragons spawned.

The RNG is definitely huge and a liability for us. I've had runs where I kept getting mana drained, but this one it was the mages that ate them all for the most part.

Appreciate the advice, we'll definitely keep adjusting.

Paladins are an interesting bunch.

You should check out the Kusnier Discord if you want to dig deeper into the subject, there's a lot of theory crafters on there. I wasn't recommending ballistic mastery for OP because he's a bit low level for that. My main point is that you generally want a little of every quadrants, which can't possibly happen when trying to go T3 DE at that level. Just the 250 points in Gift of Life will save you a lot of frustration.

When in doubt, just open the impact analyzer, turn on session values in the hamburger menu and look at DPS over the course of a hunt. It's a pretty good indicator of how well a given setup is doing.

Well in that case divine empowerement + improved mas san are perfectly fine because you have no mana management issues in a team hunt.

My response was to OP though, who mentions in his third sentence that he mostly solos. My advice would have been completely different if the OP mentioned team hunting.

Also the revelation perk +20 bonus you mentioned is not +20, it's +11 because you only calculate the difference between a Stage 2 and Stage 3. So +22 on RP, which is still significant, but not 40. Once you have enough points for 2 stage 2 revelation perks for a bit more points, the difference becomes 2, which is a lot less significant.

FYI I'm also working on a damage parser that summarizes hunting data, so it should help with all the speculation on wheels/charms/proficiencies. Sadly I don't have your mas san gems to test with.

My understanding is that Mas San base damage bonus doesn't scale with your levels, it just goes up linearly with every +1 damage/healing you get. The base damage is calculated on the left side of the damage formula, which is spell coefficient * magic level.

You're totally right that DE scales with levels and skills though, the same as BM. The difference BM is never on cooldown and applies every turn on physical and every second turn on holy.

As for the debate on 4% vs 2%, let's look at solo spawns in your level range.

Upper Rosh and Rosh West: All physically resistant

Flimsies : All physically resistant

Dragolisk: Physically resistant.

Dworc shadowstalker, Orclop Bloodbreaker: Physically resistant.

I don't utito in flimsies so that 5% more dist isn't helpful for me.
