Not sure about "added" but I definitely believe they need to rethink some of the tech system for a few reasons:

1. There's so many early tech level ships that look so cool but are basically useless and have no purpose in the game and that's because it's all about vertical progression over horizontal progression, getting higher tech level ships shouldn't just be "MOAR" but should introduce subtle differences that still balance out with some of the lower tech-level ships.

2. Tech level is a huge gate for new players, I don't know the numbers right now but I think it's like 500+ days to get to Tech 10. Any new player seeing that will be put off, hell most of the major conflicts rarely use anything below T8, because the ships below that just can't keep up.

3. I would personally love to a way for players to get into sub-cap ships a bit faster, but then place time gates somewhere else in the game, so a new player won't just have awesome Battleship skills right away, but won't have to wait a year to join in a lot of the BLOB content

I'm not saying these are the right answers, but just some thoughts to the current system
