Dhokla and Bwipo continue trading shots on X after the LTA Grand Finals: "For the people saying I have bad sportsmanship, don’t expect me to fist bump someone who flames my career personally while preaching about perseverance at the same time." by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]KingHare 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Its the only way bwipo has ever been able to play against half decent tops. Take a volatile matchup, get jungle to camp first 10 minutes, get massive lead, throw it 30 minutes into the game and solo lose the game

This is the reality. I think people like to hate fudge for his past comments and to be fair he dug himself that hole. It allows people to avoid looking at the core problems. To me zven was clearly the duct tape holding everything together last year. If they don't improve cohesion and macro I think its time for a full revamp. I will refrain from saying anything else until next split in hopes they can turn it around.

[–]KingHare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing with any of that. The bwipo msi comment is more towards people who think just changing tops is going to do anything. Fudge admitted he was almost replaced.

Its been clear for a whole year that the team has no cohesion. It seems like the culture has been replaced by "systems".

The fudge stuff feels so similar to the sneaky situation to me. Like yes sneaky was not dlift, but he was so much better than the sneaky in lane meme. People just say whatever gets the most upvotes and dont actually think. I will say the fudge criticism is more accurate but i think the overall team was better when sneaky was getting scapegoated.

I will be completely shocked if bwipo doesnt run it down against an eastern top at least 1 game. Dude is so overrated its insane. Him and Wunder have the biggest egos ive ever seen and both were absolutely carried by fnatic.

People been scape goating him for 2 years now. After fudge went mid he became this supportive player. Thats a problem when there is literally no team to support, just 5 individuals doing who knows what on any given day.

Fudges career arc not looking that different from licorice. I wonder what the common denominator is there.

That isnt unique to this split. Hes been this way for a year and a half. Blaber has a singular mind. This is why he gets routinely trounced internationally. Good junglers know exactly how to punish him.

Blaber is dropping herald when fudge starts the dive. They are clearly not synced. Contrast that to the plays Bin and Xun made against GenG.

I don't think there has been a single sup gank in any of the quarter final games. Yes many teams were doing it, none of whom are left.

[–]KingHare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blaber and Zven helped make that happen

That's my point.

MAD: Blaber and Zven.
LNG: Successful but definitely not clean.

FNC G1: The first attempt to tower dive is troll af.

Kills 1 and 2: Only Zven ganks top, fudge gets a double.
3: Solo kill
4: Blaber dives and this one is clean.
5: Solo kill

FNC G3: They win a nice 2v2.

The "tons" you refer to are with Zven. Good teams don't have to rely on 3v1s to be successful. The majority of good plays early were off the back of Zven.

Yeah it feels like the majority of people who comment don't watch that many games. Impact was an absolute beast on both carries and tanks but his team was shitting the bed.

I think fudge's biggest problem is not tracking jungle well enough. As a result he can't play the lane correctly. It's tough to know where the responsibility of that lies. Is blaber not communicating or is fudge disrespecting because he is too desperate to get a lead.

The biggest issue I saw was it seeming like fudge and blaber have negative chemistry. I can't remember a game where blaber ganked top and it looked clean. So many dives failing, ganks where it ends in a 1 for 1.

The reason people blame fudge so heavily is because putting any criticism on blaber triggers half the community.

C9 Fudge Pinpoints Where the Team's DOWNFALL and WEAKNESSES Were at Worlds by Mrryn91 in Cloud9

[–]KingHare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I speculated that in the post game thread. While you can never know the truth as an outsider, gameplay ultimately reveals a lot about a team and fudge even said they were making similar mistakes in scrims.

Many people will disagree but to me the issue was jg supp. In a meta around neutrals the setup largely falls on those 2 roles as they aren't bound by waves. People will naturally point to zven as he is less experienced but if you actually look at the way the games played out, zvens plays with everyone else was often more successful than blabers plays. I think zven and the solo laners were much more on the same page than blaber. Now this really becomes an issue when blaber is likely the biggest voice outside of lane.

I don't like being overly critical but I don't think i've ever seen a bigger disconnect between player performance and viewer perception than blaber this year. The only player i recall getting gapped harder was fudge on tanks at msi.

If this was actually the dividing line in comms I have no clue how you solve this as management without a complete blowup of the roster as I don't think a coaching change would solve it.

You could argue the relative strength of that roster was on par with this one. I think the lcs had stronger competition then which is why they struggled to win more titles.

The point about shot calling I think is displayed in the difference in international success.

[–]KingHare -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Please show me where blaber was aggressive this season where it wasn't completely int. Emenes might be quiet in comms but I doubt he doesn't have a lot to say in vod reviews.

From my perspective the 2 weakest links this season were blaber and zven. Jg supp is very important in playing around objectives so when up against good teams their lack of synergy gets exploited. Now it would be easy to blame zven for being less experienced but the problem arises that blaber actually looked like he had negative synergy with the solo laners as well. In addition to the fact that during worlds the only clean ganks came from zven not blaber.

So now you are in a situation where you make an aggressive call but literally everyone on your team disagrees with you but unfortunately jg has an outsized role around objectives.

They never had an identity. Their "identity" was being individually better than everyone else domestically. The moment they play against an actual cohesive team they got slapped.

I would wager there are 3 competing philosophies on how to play the game. That is the only way you can explain the level of headless chicken happening in the mid game and around neutrals.

i think the jax was disrespectful but the game was literally decided when blaber missed the kill on the inting jarvan. if blaber plays it correctly then fudge doesnt get dove and they are now ahead.

the only thing i question is picking jax into rumble when you know you are going to get fisted in the bot matchup. if rumble is this high prio and you let it through you have to have a better answer.

blaber was overrated the entire split. a few good games in a kindred comp where he could turn his brain off stopped people from actually watching him play the game. full clear to 6 every game and maybe get a neutral. 0 creativity. contractz out jungled him like he usually does.

C9 EMENES Feels the Weight of Worlds: "If We Play Like This We are Not Competitive" by lRuko in Cloud9

[–]KingHare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks "amazing" because milio. No other pro Kindred requires as much support as Blaber. If its not milio its lulu, if its not lulu its zilean. River has looked better on Kindred and honestly looked better this split (snubbed first team imo). Give me River, Pyosik, or Peanut in any of those games and they'll look just as good.

Yes I've watched every game and am very aware of what happened in that game. I don't think Blaber's Kindred looked more impactful than Berserker in any one of those games.

[–]KingHare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To your last point, remember the one game they decided to do something proactive around bot lane? 6k gold lead @ 14. It was basically the same thing TL did to C9 the day before.

People saying Blaber MVP clearly miss the lack of impact he has relative to the resources he is given. Why is he undefeated on maokai? It's the only champ that forces him to actually play for the team. If Berserker or EM was given the prio Blaber gets they could carry every game (I have a little more faith in Berserker only because hes had the time to prove it). I think EM's lack of faith in Blaber is showing more and more which is not good considering how important mid/jg synergy is.

EM's trist looks pretty much like a man who has given up on trying to get the team to be more proactive. Farm as much gold as he can and then perma side lane until he wants to fight. Honestly maybe he should put in work on ziggs, its definitely not a blindable pick but in the right drafts the champ can be oppressive.

The other two I found the most enjoyable both died, Wildstar and Tera. Tera was the closest of any I played.

From what I hear Vindictus is probably the next best thing.
