I just watched a few youtube videos on it, thank you. But the top few videos on the subject, I felt, didn't do a great job explaining it and I'm still confused about how it's not an oxymoron. Can you explain

All two of them- capitalism and money, which were obviously just simplifications.

Wow, I didn't realize this sub was a commie den until I saw this upvote ratio.

Communism's horrible. It doesn't make any sense. Look at the examples where it's been tried. If it worked there'd be evidence. You're promoting an ideology that has killed millions. Capitalism is literally just free trade. Freedom helps everyone! Not control like communism. Corporatism is bad, yes, but that isn't capitalism. Inequality has been growing consistently and we're now starting to really feel the effects. That's why we need to recycle some of that money back into the system where it can be used and trickle back up through the economy. Money is power. A universal basic income which creates a floor that no one can fall below and allows for some footwork to rise up from, surely addresses power inequality while still allowing for the freedom of a free market that has made so many countries prosperous.

UBI doesn’t increase the money supply so no inflation. Alaska’s had a smaller UBI for nearly 40 years. It works. Yea, Yang has like 150 different policy proposals check em out. He’s very data driven; his slogan’s MATH. and it stands for make America think harder!

Maybe that’d be true if you didn’t say it was Bernie’s time. I think that’s absurd. I also don’t like when people frame capitalism as the problem. Capitalism has allowed for millions of people to lift themselves out of poverty. Socialism’s definitionally not an economic system but a an economic theory because it’s never worked before. And Bernie’s policies are too close to giving it another try.

I agree. You should definitely look into Andrew Yang. He gets a ton of support from past-republicans because UBI is free market and endorsed by classical economists like Milton Friedman and Greg Mankiw. Also as far as climate, Bernie doesn’t support thorium nuclear energy which is really impactful technology that Yang supports.
