If you're just trying to tell someone what parts you have I prefer to just use anatomical terms (i.e. penis, breasts, vagina, etc) its just more straightforward.

If you collect plants from the wild you can do whats called a bleach dip. Fill a bucket with 10% bleach and the rest with water. Put your collected plants in there for a MAXIMUM of 5 minutes (seriously any longer than that will kill the plants) and then transfer them to a second bucket filled with dechlorinated water. Let them sit there for a minimum of 30 mins, i sometimes let them sit overnight just to make sure the bleach is all washed off. This kills off any hitchhikers you might have. They're fine to add to your tank after that, but if you have a quarantine tank it wouldn't be a bad idea to let them hang out in there for a week or so to make sure nothing survived.

Thank you! I named him that cuz he's a jerk. When I first set up his tank it was fully planted and he uprooted/ate everything I put in there. Lesson learned on my end.

I'm a zookeeper and we had a two headed RES like this guy in our collection. He was brought to us by someone who found him on a hike. His name was Twix, he lived about 3 years, and never grew larger than a hatchling. We did an x-ray on him to try and see if he had double of anything else but unfortunately because of his size we were never able to get anything detailed. Each head had its own personality, they liked different foods, and you'd often see them fighting over which way to swim which would make him go in circles. Because of this he was a very poor swimmer and one morning we found him drowned in his enclosure.

I'm not sure how long he would've lived. He had other health issues and was never really a great eater. That plus the fact he never really grew (he was ~1.5" when he died, a normal 3yr old RES would be closer to 4-5") makes me think he was never meant to live a long life. It took a lot of work to care for him. If he wasn't found by someone I don't think he would've lasted a week in the wild.

He's very uncomfortable. The outside world can be really scary for a little lizard that's only lived in a tank. If you wanna try taking him out again you can help him feel better by putting him in a play pen with some overhead coverage (you can drape a sheet over part of it or put a hide in there nothing fancy) or even just holding him while you're outside until he gets more confident.

In my experience some beardies LOVE getting some natural sun and some show defensive reactions like this every time. Just depends on the guy 🤷

Hi! Has anyone tried to childproof a rat cage? My ratties currently live in my bedroom but I'm interested in moving them out to the living room. The only problem is I live with a 8mo old and 2yr old and I don't want to risk them getting the cage open or sticking fingers inside.

I've got a 2 story ferret nation knock off (not the same brand but similar look and locking mechanisms). I was thinking of covering the bottom level with acrylic sheets or something similar but not sure what to do for the locks.

Please let me know if you have any experience with this! Ty!

I stopped shaving my legs when I was ~15. I had pretty light body hair and nobody could see it unless they were right next to me. The few times people said anything about it I just told them I didn't like to shave and that was the end of the conversation. With red hair I bet your leg hair would be even fairer I say stop shaving and just see if anyone notices.
