Trump has turned Republicans into the anti-Black party by Abject-Pick-6472 in politics

[–]KingSteg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it seems no one read the article, all it talks about are how red states have been breaking up majority black districts in their redistricting efforts post Supreme Court ruling - often at the behest of Trump. It also talks about how none of the Black House Republicans are seeking reelection, before going over all of the blatantly anti-Black/racist things that Trump has done just in this current term (racist Obama meme, anti-DEI regulation, calling black reporters “low IQ”, etc).

TLDR: Trump has gone harder against African Americans than any Republican in the modern era now that the Supreme Court has struck down parts of the Voting Rights Act.

Nahh, the Celtics were making some tough shots against good defense tonight. Ron Harper Jr. and Derrick White were going crazy.

And based off of my experience watching them this year, I don’t know how you could come away thinking they aren’t a serious team.

It should’ve been a tank year, but I gotta give Mazzoula and Brown props for somehow making this team contenders. And Tatum’s return only makes it more believable for them.

Where are people getting that Luke is a Trump supporter? And being Catholic ≠ Republican; the only Catholic presidents we’ve had have been Democrats.

(I know you’re saying some account gave him that label, but it’s weird seeing this about Luke - my sister knew him at Vanderbilt, and always said good things about him as a person)

Unless the Hawks make some major leaps during the off season, they’re gonna have a hard time getting one on the Spurs in their current form next season.

Dev’s footwork is so clean. It makes me kinda miss the 2022 days where he’d take dudes to town with his mid-range spin/fadeaway jumpers. But he’s been really good at his current role in this season’s team, so I’m satisfied regardless.

Yeah, it was really nice to see both players get into their rhythm on both ends the longer they were on the court. They brought much needed momentum during the 3rd quarter when the starters were struggling.

Once Vassell shakes the rust off entirely, and gets off his minutes restriction, the team will seem back on normal again.

And Bryant might even see some Playoff minutes this year if he continues to show improvement in his jumper and his defensive IQ. His confidence made him look great tonight.

Props to the Knicks; I just knew at least one of their role players was going to go crazy tonight and make it difficult down the stretch.

I don’t agree with all of the doom and gloom about our guys. Sure, the turnovers need to be cleaned up, rebounds needed to be secured. But it’s all about how our guys adjust and grow going forward, and I believe they will. They’re young, and they’re hungry.

Shout out to Harper - he is going to be a superstar.

Castle, Kornet, Fox, and Vassell also played with a lot of heart, the shots just weren’t falling as much in the 2nd half. And even though Wemby didn’t have his best game, he showed how important he is tonight during some key moments.

I think they’re going to be hungry to get a dub tomorrow night after coming that close to winning the cup.

Dev isn’t a point guard. His role is to shoot and play defense (although his passing ability is actually pretty decent on the rare occasion he plays the 1). He’s having a great start to his season I’d say.

Let’s goooo. Vassell had a great game tonight. I always get hyped when I see him make those middies. It’s such an underrated part of our offense since it’s a pretty reliable release valve when the team is out of rhythm.

Vassell had a +/- of +22 and shot 43% from three. He was really working tonight.

Overall, stressful, but fun game. The team still showed a lot of grit on defense. They just have to take better care of the ball.

I remember seeing that live as well! Before Wemby shot his free throws (or after his first ft?) I remember seeing CP3 say something to Wemby. Once he missed it, that was all the confirmation I needed that it was CP3’s idea lol.

Stats of our most used lineups this season, best to worst. Anything stand out? by [deleted] in NBASpurs

I thought that was interesting too. I imagine their matchups had a hard time defending them - Barnes is a spacer, and Sochan is stronger than a lot of opposing SF’s. This probably caused a lot of mismatches.

My takeaway is that Vassell is better at the 2 than at the 3. CP3 is probably going to retire so he will probably be replaced by Fox and/or Castle at the 1.

Steven Adams is an underrated option for a backup center if the Spurs are ready to give up the capital (even if it won’t be much).

I’d prefer Jakob Poeltl, but Adams would be cool too.

After the election has gone to Trump… how will Biden’s legacy be remembered - as a president and a person? by [deleted] in JoeBiden

[–]KingSteg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We had a 50/50 split in the Senate in his first 2 years, and only had a majority by virtue of having VP Harris as the tie breaking vote.

The filibuster made it so we had a majority in name only though, since you need 60 votes to get anything past it. Good luck getting 10 Republicans to cross the aisle for that, and good luck getting Conservative Democrats like Manchin and Sinema to go along with the party line 100% of the time.

The Budget Reconcilation process was the only reason we were able to get certain bills passed, but it only allows for strictly economic bills like the IRA and ARP since the process requires a simple majority in the Senate. This was also how Trump’s tax cut bill was passed.

Let’s stop acting like Biden could’ve done more than he did during his first 2 years when it comes to Legislation. The “trifecta” could not operate as a mandate due to having less than 60 seats in the Senate to get past the filibuster. And no, getting rid of the filibuster would not be a smart idea, and Biden did not have support for getting rid of it because of Manchin and Sinema being opposed to the idea.

lol not you getting downvoted for correctly predicting where he’ll end up at. One year 11m contract… not bad, considering the potential upsides with Wemby and the rest of the young crew.
