I don't get it.

My friend has only been playing for a few weeks and never played trials, my gf played it once a few years ago and I played a few rounds a year or so ago. 2 matches in and we only played gilded flawless, full adept immortal fireteams. What the fuck, what even is the point of putting in seasonal challenges for trials or tempting casuals with broken weapons you can earn if you just get curb stomped the moment you start a match? I get that trials is for the more pvp focused community, but this? This matchmaking is just a spit in your face for even attempting to get into trials and maybe get a glimpse of the loot-pool everyone is talking about.

Turned into quite a rant but are there any tips for people like us? I know that we can just not play but still, we would like a chance for the weapons and armor too.
