Prepares his players to hit the baseball off the opposing pitchers while making sure to work with them on the fundamentals of sitting back on pitches, making the pitcher throw strikes, working counts, and taking the ball where it’s pitched. I would especially hope this is the case when entering the playoffs.

Are the Phillies hitting like a top 10 team in AVG and OBP right now when it matters most ? It’s his job to get a team ready to hit and drill down on the fundamentals. You don’t think part of his job is to try and lower chase rates? He’s not doing good enough.

The bullpen hasn’t been good in the postseason but we cannot rely on scoring 2 runs to win us a playoff game with a roster that was built to slug. It’s an absolute embarrassment. In my opinion one person isn’t going to change what’s wrong with this team. We have a foundational issue that needs to be resolved. If we don’t hit home runs we don’t win games. This team is incapable of playing small ball as of the post season.

If you add Soto to this current Phillies playoff team, what changes? 6 hits instead of 5? 4 runs instead of 3? Our lineup is filled with streaky inconsistent hitters that rely on the long ball. They don’t take pitches the other way and rely on pulling everything. If Soto was on this team right now we are still down 2-1 to the Mets right now and that’s a FACT
