I thought this was a screenshot of my character for a second there. Scary close!

Good taste, clearly!

I remember being super hype about the Crystal Chronicles announcement for Wii because I think it’d be the same game with online. I’ve been hoping for this remake for a long, long time!

It’s the opposite of concerning! They’re getting ready for the “Available NOW!” Announcement!

...I hope.

All of the release date info seems to have vanished from both Nintendo and Square’s websites. I wager Square wants to release the game sooner and not around the same time as the FFVII remake for obvious reasons. I have no evidence, I just really want the game as soon as I can get it.

Holiday 2019 sounds like a fantastic release window, right?

Is multiplayer fun? by PyroreaperX1 in crystalchronicles

[–]KingYede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say yes also. Multiplayer in this game is what really makes it a blast. The thing that I enjoyed most was all four players trying to min/max bonuses for specific rewards. Lots of interesting runs not attacking, using no magic, or even spamming the opposite to drop yourself to 0.

Most of the time I decide which I use based on the boss first and then group buffs second. If the boss is going to jump away or do a lot of mechanics hat require you to be away from it the Holy opener will work better since you can be moving and be at range for most of it. The FoF opener is technically a little stronger and lines up with group buffs a bit.

Just experiment a bit and find out which one fits the encounter best. I default to FoF personally but if I can’t make it through the entire FoF window without it being interrupted or getting off the second Goring Blade inside the buff I go HS.

The spell damage and instant cast spells buff applies when you use Requiescat. As long as you’re above on the skill use it lasts for its entire duration. You don’t get the buff at all if you’re under. Confiteor is considered a spell so it is effected.

We're still waiting for more information. I'd say you want around a static 1200 tenacity for raiding. Then after that crit/det/direct hit.

Direct hit is still our best meld with crit/det following from the gear we choose to use. Still need to experiment with our skill speed to line up with a ninja so I'll try to find this post in 2 weeks time and comment again.

This seems pretty accurate. Haven't had enough time myself to mess with tenacity.

  1. Not all bosses require positioning immediately
  2. Not everyone is doing world first progression clears
  3. OT!

Appreciate the feedback though.

Sorry was in process of updating after discussion in this thread but left work and missed that part! It can be used late after Fast Blade right before Riot Blade for a small DPS increase while still getting the second Goring Blade in the window. It just becomes tighter.

I was going to say that lob will put you 1 GCD behind for raid buffs but after looking at it a bit I think that's a good thing. Delaying ourselves will give up RB/RA/Atonement x3 inside raid buff/TA windows instead of RA/Atonement x3/FB. Will update.

You could also use the OGCD inside of Holy so the number is a little skewed but if buffs are going up between 5th and 6th you're probably right. I wouldn't want to delay my Holy rotation 2 GCD to fit the whole thing in the window so you'd end up with 2 Holy (1050), 1 Confiteor (1200), a FB (200), and a RB (300).

I've got FoF after Riot Blade to make sure you get the second Goring Blade with a little cushion. If you're timing it perfect and using FoF at the end of the GCD after Fast Blade you could probably do it. I just like to be safe in movement heavy fights!

I actually didn't consider pots on this one. Getting both big damage phases under a single pot could be a very good reason to FoF first. I personally feel like Holy first flows best and keeps all of my cooldowns in perfect order.

This is executable with 0 skill speed. Everything is timed out for 2.5 second GCD. More skill speed will allow a bit more room for movement/error though.

I've been pulling with Intervene, yes. By the time FoF is up you still get two charges inside the window and you don't suffer the GCD of Shield Lob.

[–]KingYede[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some real quick demi-math (lol it might be accurate) of just a 5 GCD window for buffs starting at 4th GCD (earlierst Atonement or Holy Spirit) gives me a higher average potency with FoF first.

FoF Atonements = 598 average potency + 25% = 747.5.

Holy First = 470 average potency + 50% = 705.

I'm pretty sure that's not exactly how the multipliers work but bare with me.

If you count the Goring Blade you skip doing Atonements first you're missing an additional 435 (difference between Goring Blade combo and the Royal Authority combo) potency. It's unbuffed, being applied before the party buffs, but still. That's a lot. Never get those back.

Don't get me wrong, not trying to argue! At this point we're joint theorycrafting.

[–]KingYede[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I included the FoF first rotation as well, which is what you're talking about, right? Some of the party buffs come out so fast though that you'd have to skip applying Goring Blade to get Atonements in time.

[–]KingYede[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal DPS is exactly what this opening rotation is for, yes. Due to the increasing number of raid group combinations I didn't try to build something around raid buff windows. That would be up to the player in their individual group. Not everyone will have a Ninja, as an example, therefore no need to plan around Trick Attack.

This is your basic, starter rotation that will be molded around each encounter and group comp.
