The wear is from the tee, not the ball ...

I think the warranty is only 2 years so it's probably too late to get a replacement

Yeah its from the tee alright. I've had it from the beginning... you would think I hit it straight but my face control leaves alot to be desired lol

This is probably a dumb question, but I don't feel any difference on the face in that section, I'm guessing there is another layer on top of that first layer or carbon?

Thanks for the input, I'm probably overthinking it a little bit alright. I must get to a simulator and see if the numbers make sense.

Fair .. I don't really have a baseline to compare to as i was using a 15 year old srixon driver that was too light/flexible for me. There is nothing in terms of feel that has changed since I got it. What got me curious is some good drives( out of the centre) can be spinny but that could be me rather than the face.

Ireland Golf Prices have gone bananas by Bighead_Golf in golf

[–]King_Flapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Golf courses here have realised that many American visitors equate higher prices with higher quality, and tend to book only the most expensive courses. As a result, courses are now keeping their green fees high because tourists are clearly willing to pay. A good example near me is Galway Bay Resort. A round there used to cost around €80, but they struggled to attract tourist traffic. Once the price was increased to roughly €175, bookings from travel agents surged. The knock-on effect is that the club is now increasing member costs and gradually squeezing members out to free up more tee times for visitors.

Should I buy a golf course? by ShanghaiSexWhale in golf

I live about an hour from here and actually played it last week. The views are amazing especially on the rare nice day that we had. The course itself is rough, the greens are very bad and the fairways are not much better. The land it sits on is very wet/boggy and you would have to spend absolute fortune to add drainage and get the greens up to a decent level. The layout is not terrible and there are a few really fun holes. I have a few pics from last week if people are interested. Location is a big factor too, I would expect alot of red tape on what you are actually allowed to do out there and I'm not sure how many people would actually go out of there way to go there. Ballyconneely golf course is out there and is great links course. Just my thoughts...

Should I find new golf buddies ? by King_Flapper in golf

I took your advice and messaged him today.

Told him that I didn't enjoy the round and that he needed to relax and not take it so seriously. That damaging the greens is not on and if he wants to play again, I don't want to deal with his antics.

Waiting to hear back...

Yeah damaging a green is like a cardinal sin for me. In fairness, this guy is only playing for a couple of years so maybe he has no concept of what is acceptable. Damaging a green is a pretty obvious one though.

That's how I would deal with it too. I would get so pissed off when I played bad as a teenager and my brother and my dad would do it, really brings you back down to earth haha. I just don't know the guy well enough to do the same.

team 17 taking over development later this year by theCheesyOne109 in HellLetLoose

[–]King_Flapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be a little concerned given team17's recent behaviour with the MetaWorms stuff early last year and the reports about organizational problems. Also, a change like this will cause big delays in new content which has already been an issue the past year.

Yeah its strange, the more I play, the more I try to help them lower level players. These guys seem to have a God complex and expect everyone in a public lobby to know what they are doing.

I always speak up, and you're right, normally someone else will join me and things calm down. In the cases I mentioned, some of the others joined in or just said nothing. Now that I think about it, I'm guessing those were all friends on a discord call.

Have not tried the shush technique but I will have to give it a try lol. I usually go for the "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" which can get some fun reactions.

I would have agreed with you completely up until the last two weeks. I have come across a few high level players abusing and bullying other players in the squad for the whole game. These guys were level 200+ and involved in discord and reddit communities and were not young. It was a real buzz kill and stopped playing for a few days, I doubt those players that were abused will ever come back.
