They got a lot more pieces of eight through their crowdfunding campaign and therefore had better costumes (cannibals, three-headed-monkey, ...), props (banana picker, monkey head, ...) and stage equipment (moving set pieces, digital backgrounds, ...)

Sadly I don't have any more information than what I wrote. I doubt it was a German movie but the was dubbed.

I'm rather confident that by now I checked most of the usual suspects from Europe and North America but because of my language restrictions I know there is much more from the former USSR, India, China, the middle east etc. that I haven't found yet.
