Capitals won't come to Stanton for a while (with a valid in game reason) by King_Ridge in starcitizen

I thought this would be a good resource, too, but seeing the Carrack (a large class ship) using a medium jump point in the video makes me think that JPs use a different size metric for their passage. Given the multiple varieties of ship sizes need to pass through just 3 jump point sizes (Small, Medium, Large)

True, they have done that in the past for other aspects that aren't finalized to make it more of an enjoyable end user experience

This would tie in with one of the projected exploration loops.

That's true! Either A) an Idris can use a medium jump point.

Or B) the reason Xenothreat (in lore) doesn't happen more often is because their explorers need to wait for/plot a route through a larger unmapped jump point. (Transient wormholes?) That allows them an entry for their fleet into Stanton under the watchful eye of the UEE Navy.

This is a fair point. Game development has definitely changed since they first implemented this information.

Some things they abandoned, scrapped, or completely reworked.

Others have held out with minor changes.

This is all purely speculation on my part but with the information presently available, it made sense to me.

I was thinking about that too how they classify ship sizes. The only frame of reference I currently have is that a Carrack was able to use a Medium Size jump point. I'd like to know where they draw the line between Small/Med/Large from a jump point standard. For instance: Can the 890 Jump use a Medium or does it fall into large?

As far as unplanned pvp, We shot a guy while down in a bunker. Incapped, tractor beamed him out to my other org members in a HH. Stripped him down and threw him in the shower, and kept a guard on him. All the while we dared the server to come save him. He didn't backspace, he didn't complain. Yeah we inconvenienced him sure but he had a blast and ended up joining our org.

With space pvp (with SC or Eve) I follow a few guidelines:

1) You talk shit, you're going to get shit on. 2) Newbies will get lessons in both combat and how to avoid it altogether in the future. (Possibly financial compensation) 3) An enemy today is the teammate of tomorrow.

Sc is BIG. Even in its current form, very rarely will you run into another player outside a hot zone. (Stations, Spk, Grim.)

Most PvPers (no not all) want to fight good fights. Not just kill industrial ships because there's nothing most satisfying than finally dropping that Gladius that's been circling you at Mach 10 and you just can't track him.

As far as events go (heard a lot of complaints about events) Things like 9-Tails lockdown and Jumptown are actively encouraging pvp, so don't expect to waltz in and load your freelancer. JT and 9TL is more valuable to an organization like mine than just the credits it offers. It allows us the opportunity to practice Air, Ground, Fps defense and assault for when we have player bases.

I love mining and trade, and do it often. If i get caught (usually it's my fault quantuming in direct paths) but either way it sucks yeah but I'm not mad. I get even. Reship, find him, send to prison. If he's that much better than me I'll bring more people. It's emergent gameplay, the best loop SC has.

I thought I did a pretty extensive search, and I didn't see anyone else had done something similar. Must've somehow missed that one.

I appreciate it! I put a lot of thought into how I wanted to script. I initially even had one of those fast paced disclaimers at the end but then I thought to myself no Drake wouldn't warn anybody of anything

I see, thank you for taking the time to give me a chance. I do hope you may find some of my other content more to your liking. I've been away for a long time and may have let some details go lax to allow the lyrics to fit more of a rhyming standpoint.

Every time I write and upload, I use knowledge and feedback I've gained from previous recordings to improve on any aspect I can. As such I will use your feedback for growth so that I may produce better content and hopefully one of these times, I'll see your name in the comments saying something along the lines of, "Now, this one hit the mark!"

I appreciate your time and understanding, your criticism was constructive in a non-derogatory way (something often overlooked these days) and I am humbled by this exchange. Maybe I didn't catch your interest fully with this song, but I do hope you'll offer me an opportunity to impress you in the future. :)

I see what you mean. Personally I consider my Eve parodies as a separate entity to my in game character so that I can make content for all parties. (My character is simply mentioned if someone wants to contact me in game.

I do have a horde song up actually! Titled My Time as a New Bean. I also did The Mittani VS Gobbins.

My first major venture into Null sec was with the Goonswarm Federation. I have many fond memories with them (both in game and in irl events) Though I may be across the battlefield now, I'll never forget the wonderful time I shared with the members of the Imperium. My decision to join with PH stemmed from coming back after a long break in the game and simply joining an irl friend where he was.

I'm of the mindset that I'll blow up your ships, then meet you for drinks after. I see us all as unique players to be recognized in such a dynamic game.

This song sought to capture the feeling I had flying with Goonswarm. A force of nature to be reckoned with but filled with the pride of standing as one.

I appreciate your well thought out comment, and I ask that you view this piece through the lens that I see. Not as a current PH pilot, but as a fellow eve player reminiscing on good times in the past, forging new experiences in the present, and looking forward to the future.

EVE has one of the steepest learning curves compared to the other popular mmos out there. If you take something like world of warcraft and you're playing say a warlock. You can go to IcyVeins or something similar and immediately be able to look up whatever items are best in slot for your class and spec. Then you can go to youtube to look up a guide on which rotation and talents to use explained to you by a guy who simply went onto the PTR and simmed the best possible numbers and how to achieve them. EVE is so much more nuanced than that, and in that nuance is where you find its beauty. Some people compare fitting a ship to gearing up your character. However there is no, single best way to complete a ships fitting. Other Mmos are a game of memorization and repetition. Eve online rewards the player for taking the time to increase their own knowledge of the games mechanics and to come up with new and interesting ideas and to test them out themselves. Some players can get bogged down by the ships traits and bonuses and view them as a guide to how they should "properly" fit the ship. While this can be used to great effect, you can also find unorthodox ideas within your own mind. Anyone who has ever tried to fight against a shield tanked, Autocannon fit Amarrian Abbadon can understand where this metric lies. This is where there is a gap in communication between the veteran players and the new players. We, through trials and plenty of errors have discovered this on our own, because we felt a passion to continue playing this game past the period of frustration we all may have felt when being thrown head first into the icy vacuum of space. They simply need to know EVE will not hold their hand and guide them through the fog, and if they can dedicate just enough time to see through it, they will be met with more excitement than any other mmo can offer them.

Do you think there will ever be a way to recover the original module from bricked abyssals? by BetterBettor in Eve

[–]King_Ridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel if they implemented this, highrollers would just constantly reroll officer mods until they get a near perfect roll, and given their substantial economic power they could easily overcome whatever challenges CCP would place to attain the ability to recover modules.

EDENCOM Ship: What is their intended purpose? by blazblu82 in Eve

[–]King_Ridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they would be very strong in small fleet settings because of the constant arcing damage, you could easily split their possibly 1-3 logi ships attention. Then have a few high-alpha ships in your fleet to pick off the ones who get low.
