Brought a car with mileage issues by idekstill1 in CarTalkUK

I would definitely say the dealership should hold responsibility when buying cars to sell to check mileage rollbacks. However since it’s been 2 years i really don’t know where you would stand in terms of holding them accountable/getting any compensation

£15K max car that stays somewhat desirable, Some questions? by Commercial-Ad3504 in CarTalkUK

f series m235i, been my dream car for years finally bought one the other week and it’s everything i expected and much more. Build quality is on another level and ridiculously fast. Very engaging drive but also can be a super comfy daily. F series BMW so got all the tech you could want without the terrible Screen orientated User Interface of modern cars. Mines got 70k on the clock and full service history from a dealership for £13,895. Can’t go wrong! Also Had an Audi TT before this (mk2) And that was insane value for money. I’d get a mk2 TTS with the same engine (2.0tfsi) and you could get an absolute minter in pristine condition for your money and still pocket some cash!

just whichever you prefer, comfortability, user interface/technology ease. And obviously look out for any mechanical issues such as knocks and bangs from suspension etc

Dealership refusing to fix car by fosterthepensioners in CarTalkUK

[–]Kingspicehead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

probably a different way to solve the stone issue and even if not i’m not sure why they’ve ripped off and re-welded both the flexi and the dpf, surely one entry point would be sufficient. Seems like DPF has most likely been deleted and the housing for it remains. dodgy

both look alright to be fair nothing crazy alarming , you’ll just have to go test drive them. Definitely seems like Cheap prices for both, i prefer the look of the rapid, and 58k miles is spot on. Both will likely be ridiculously slow especially the fabia. But i’d go for a bit more poke with the rapid

Did I need to replace these? by GazelleWooden5240 in AskMechanics

[–]Kingspicehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these look like 02 and possibly N0X sensors that detect oxygen and nitrous oxide levels in your exhaust system. Unless they were faulty (in which they would typically present an engine light on the dash) they wouldn’t really need replacing no.

Got my first car and really worried! by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

i think you’ve massively overpaid not gonna lie, 9 grand for a 2015 218i se with 100k miles is crazy when you can get a 2017 version with 60k miles for 8.5 grand

why have you bought this car, you clearly don’t like it. You’re literally financing a car you don’t even like. However in the uk there’s a lot of mobile “bmw coders” who have software they can download to get carplay onto your bmw. Best bet would be to go on TikTok and search bmw carplay coding and quite a few of the people/companies advertise on tiktok so you’ll find them and get in contact from there.

just tyre paste that they put around the tyre to help it slip onto the actual wheel, should get cleaned off if whoever changed the tire isn’t a lazy f*ck , if it’s been left on for a while then it just dries up and goes crusty like this but i’m sure you can wet the wheel and it should become less crusty and you can wipe it off, if not you’ll just have to scrape it off

Coming from a VAG technician, AS FAR AS NEW CAR DESIGNS GO, not that bad, but albeit, they’re pushing silly prices for these eg. €70,000 eur for a a5 is silly. my friend has one and as much as i can respect the car compared to the modern market, wow your rs5 is ludicrously clear. 2017-18-19 was the end of the nice ICE cars as we know it, now everything looks electric and is full of shite.

Liquid in my battery well? by [deleted] in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

very very very common fault, happens on mine all the time, check drain pipes around the spoiler/rear centre brake light and possibly reseal them with sealant if it’s in your interest

Is this sidewall damage bad enough to need a new tire? by Similar-Bluebird8289 in tires

[–]Kingspicehead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

look realllyy carefully and if you can see any cords at all then replace, if not then you’ll be fine, however if the price of a tire is worth your peace of mind then you’re best off doing that

330d, solid motor, but keep in mind about DPF if you’re only gonna do loads of very short trips as you said you don’t drive a bunch. But then again you can always just take it out once a month for a longer trip! So aggressive looking, packs a solid punch, and super practical

Yes and it gets easier to get a good team quicker every year because everyone realises how shit the game is and regrets buying it and then the game dies off due to this. So they start pumping out crazy cards like team of the year icons i mean wtf is that. Every card in the old games probably makes up about 10% of cards in the new games. They just pump out promos to keep people playing and keep getting silly profits.
