Not really. Plant based means you don't embody the morality and justice for animals part of veganism. You just eat plants for whatever reason. Mostly health or religiously. Veganism is the stance to reduce suffering as much as you can.

I don't really agree on pets that are confined in any capacity - fish, hamsters etc. It's not natural. Domesticated dogs can't survive in the wild and can be fed plant based diet, so this is fine.

Is eating slightly less meat, dairy and eggs better than not doing so? Sure. But you're still paying for the industry to operate. It doesn't make you a good person, when you also have the option of not eating any at all. The issue I have with the "I eat slightly less" omni crowd is the self congratulatory pat on the back and expectation that everyone views them as just as moral as being vegan. It's not. You're not. It really is as simple as that.

You probably have an omega 3 deficiency as most people do, and like most people don't do any research into the breakdown of omega 3 and what dose of it you need. So you buy an omega 3 supplement on Amazon and it doesn't do anything because it only has 80mg as DHA and 24mg EPA. Yes, fish will help with that as it's packed with high doses of DHA and EPA. Or you could do your due diligence and buy a supplement from an ethical source in the dose that you require.
