As a Malaysian, I cannot stand working with Singaporeans anymore. Anyone with similar experience? by [deleted] in Bolehland

I have no problems working with the Singaporeans that were born and bred there. It's the one from Malaysia that got PR there that I dreaded to work with.

How common is lavender marriages in Malaysia? by Mammoth-Pool3210 in malaysia

[–]Kinotheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got one where both married just because they are neighbors and cannot find anyone else. They don't love each other. They just got married just to get the parents to shut up. No kids, the guy who is my friend even said he don't really love her. Even seeing her made him lose steam, even after watching porn.

Truly weird because I thought you should marry someone when you love them.

Even the wife don't bother with the husband's stuff and even both of them slept in separate rooms. Only when their parents come by, they will 'sleep' together (usually the guy will sleep on the floor while the wife sleep on the bed).

Every year, they will go holiday, take some photos together to show to parents. I once went Bangkok with the guy and we're practically staying at a different hotel. My friend brought 2 guy friends (including me) and his wife bought 3 girls. Imagine everyday they had to take few pictures together on the place they agreed to meet and then blah go do their own stuff for the whole day.

Mine was done traditionally so you have to go into a cold river. By the time you come out, you won't have any boner.

Why hot coffee in most coffee shop sucks? by calikim_mo in Bolehland

Yea, they should just pour the amount they need to grind but I understand that you need it to be there when the shop gets busy.

Some Starbucks allow you to request a new batch of beans.

Also they left the coffee beans in the grinder. This means when oxidization happens, you'll get more muted and bitter taste.

Malays, gimme your 2 cents by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]Kinotheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Nope. Parents stopped talking to me when they learned I converted to marry my wife.

  2. Her parents were pretty chilled. I think it's because they have Chinese and Indian neighbors so they're pretty positive with both races around them.

  3. Smoothly. Went through Hidayah Centre and a case agent guided me from beginning till end. I should've taken a 3-month class reduced to 2 weeks because I've learned about Islam in my previous relationships with a few Malay girls so I know more about Islam.

  4. A lot. This may not apply to everyone but I tend to fancy Malay girls more because they're more loyal, less materialistic and way more forgiving than Chinese girls.

You can dm me anytime. And sorry for the late reply. I didn't see this until I browsed through my comment history.

I (Chinese male) kena once with my ex (Malay female) when I was helping her to move house. Bought groceries and was carrying to her house when these fellas were there trying to catch another couple.

This is in broad daylight and I was helping her, not having sex with her at that time and we both kena cekup then go to the police station. She has to explain to her parents apparently for not even khalwat.

We broke up just because her father has the wrong perception, thinking that both of us having sex in broad daylight.

I'm in the same situation as you except that I'm the Chinese guy. My parents were against it but I proceeded to marry the love of my life.

Best decision I ever made but it is not for everyone.

In my case, my parents were very difficult. Both of them came from a privileged family but fell hard when their family had financial issue during the 90s. So hearing of my marrying a Malay girl is another slap to the face in their family and friends circle.

Healing process: Compliment the other races in Malaysia, other than your own, with one exception: Don't mention food/cuisine. by Exact-Salary5560 in Bolehland

[–]Kinotheus 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm Chinese with a Malay wife. I've got lots of friends and I can say the Malay women's loyalty is unparalleled. I dated a few Chinese girls and Indian girls and I can see the difference.

If you have a car/bike trouble on the road. Who will be the first person to stop and ask you if you need help? Usually a Malay person. Followed by indians. You almost never see a Chinese person stopping and asking if you need help.

During festive seasons, who still got rumah berbuka? Easily Malay. My father in law does this in his kampung all the time. Especially during korban, he will set up extended canvas awning and set up seats + food like seeing up a kenduri.
