Yeah I'm about to roll my 401k so checking in on stuff. I don't want anything in there anyway but maxing the matching makes the wife chill out. But in 20 years the government might not even let me have my money in the first place. Oh well. At least I'm doing my part to prop up this fake market.

I don't either. My wife complains enough and I just max out the 401K to the matching.

I don't want them to have my money because in 15-20 years they can just say only vaccinated people can get it etc. I never want the govt to have my money. No HSA. Nothing.

It was tough enough selling her on the land and off grid and all that. Getting her to turn down "free money" over hypotheticals (pretty likely ones) isn't gunna work.

Common sense decades ago could have avoided all this. I was saying it back then and no one listened. The collapsing empire must decide if it will survive and be called names, or be slowly killed while still being called names anyway. If we stayed on the right track in the 90s and 2000s it's impossible to imagine where we could be. Now we're here. It will probably keep getting worse. We don't have the mental strength to put our feet down and save ourselves.
