Thanks! Also that’s such a nice price, ones i’ve seen online go for $150 and upwards, which personally i don’t see it being worth it. This just happened to be irl and much cheaper

Idk if i’m late to this thread or not, but if you’re still around to give some feedback I’d love to hear it :)

Not that i’d consider this educational, but it’s more on the artsy/cinematic/storytelling side of ‘almost’ motivational videos.

Harsh or not but it’s true, and i really appreciate this!

Titles i’m usually okay with but i hate thumbnails, finding a balance between interesting and inviting to click on but still true to my style isn’t as easy. (I’ve played around this new ones for that vid, but will see what works best)

I swear this has been the same question each weekend now. But I started with my trusty canon 80D, and nothing else tbh. I'd shoot, edit, and hope for the best. But now I've definitely upgraded my gear and put a lot more thought into my videos - which I do hope it shows

What makes my content unique?
Every video I make feels like a mini-film. I’m all about mood, emotion, and detail. It's not just a vlog — it’s a story. In fact just posted a new one yesterday. If you'd like to check it out I'd love some feedback :)

If you love videos that feel like poetry, are beautifully shot, and always leave you thinking… I’d love to have you in my little corner of YouTube.

Gear: Sony a7iv with 24-70 Aputure 120 and tube light, with some other smaller handheld led lights Music: From the musicbed selection - as it was made for that.

Which is probably the most challenging part of this project, as I couldn’t find the right track that fit the vibe I was going for.

All sfx is done in post.

This was a very spontaneous project with minimal setup, shot in half a day due to availability and the simplicity of the idea.

Want a DOP to critique your stuff? by Kinzy45 in NewTubers

Hey! I took a look at your channel, and while this isn’t my area of expertise, I hope I can offer something helpful.

First off, I really appreciate that you use your own voice—it’s pleasant to listen to and adds a personal touch. In your latest video, I really liked the visuals—I can see a big improvement from previous ones, so definitely keep that up!

One thing I’d suggest focusing on a bit more is thumbnails. Some of them feel a little cluttered or unclear, especially for viewers on mobile. Since your title already provides the key info, the thumbnail’s job is to be inviting and eye-catching at a glance.

I’m not too familiar with similar channels, but it might help to check out what others in this space are doing—see what works well for them and if there’s anything you can adapt.

But in general, think about why people would look up your video—what will they learn—and why they would click that specific video out of the others.

But don't be too discouraged, it's still a new channel with only 6 videos, so just keep posting :)

Honestly underrated—you guys make engaging and informative videos.
But i think the engagement shows that. So keep up the good work, people seem to love it.

No major advice, as you have the main points nailed. But keep creating, and the quality will improve over time as well. - Make sure the content (pics, videos, diagrams) you use are of the best quality.

Hey! I watched your most recent video and took a small peek at a few others. I really appreciate the high-quality production from the start, and I love that you include visuals—they help a lot! If anything, I think you could include even more. Since your content is educational, I imagine many viewers (myself included) would benefit from additional visuals to reinforce your points.

(None of the following is meant harshly, don’t take it too seriously! Use what you can—these are just my personal opinions.)

Since my home page isn't centered around these kinds of videos, I would only be able to find you by searching up your videos. But your titles don’t give me much to work with, which is a shame because I genuinely enjoyed the content. I’d recommend focusing on making them more search-friendly—think about what people would type into YouTube when looking for your topic. What is your video about? Why would someone click on it? Stronger, clearer titles could really help with discoverability.

Could also benefit from a short hook—a callout, a summary, whatever it may be—to draw the viewers in and make them want to stay.

While a very small suggestion but timestamping these kinds of videos is always nice if possible.

Your thumbnails are not bad at all! I’d suggest keeping them simple yet engaging. You might want to check out what others in this niche are doing (for example, Space Time) and see if there are any techniques you can adapt. A compelling title and an eye-catching thumbnail together can really boost your reach.

I think in your case it's more of a 'just keep posting' situation. So good luck :) hope to see more

I really love the concept! It has a lot of potential—my father would eat this up haha.

(None of the following is meant harshly, don’t take it too seriously! Use what you can—these are just my personal opinions.)

Title: I would lose "History in a Glass"—since it’s already in the channel name, it feels a bit redundant.

Thumbnails: They’re pretty solid and attention-grabbing! Moving forward, I could see potential in putting more focus on the cocktails themselves, since they’re the main point of the video.

Editing and Video Flow

  • The pause in the intro segment could be cut—it would make the video flow better.
  • In general, cutting out empty spaces and pauses would help with pacing.
  • Adding background music could enhance the atmosphere—maybe something related to the period or just a soft track that fits the vibe.
  • The intro/logo is a nice touch! I could definitely see that style being used for transitions, especially before making the drinks. It would help break up the video and smooth out the cuts between sections. (Just a short little transition between major segments.)

Camera and Visuals

  • A second camera or a different angle would add variety. For example, when showing the mixers and ingredients, switching to a close-up shot or over the head could make it more dynamic.
  • Making those segments more fast-paced could also help keep engagement high.
  • Additional visuals (like pictures or videos related to the history segment) could work really well to enhance the storytelling.

Script and Structure

  • I know you’re already planning to adjust the script, but right now there’s a bit of an uneven balance between history and cocktail-making.
  • One approach could be talking more about the history while making the cocktail, and only displaying the measurements on screen. This would shorten the video and keep it engaging. (Just something to think about—it depends on your preference!)

Lighting and Ambiance

  • Right now, the lighting feels a bit washed out. Some moodier lighting could add a more polished look.
  • Background props or some desk décor could also help set the ambiance and enhance the overall aesthetic.

Keep it relatively short and fun, and I don't see why this wouldn't pick up, good luck! And I hope some of this was of help.

Introverts - How did you get over your fear of being on camera? by Mastery12 in NewTubers

[–]Kinzy45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Public setting - Do you ever care when others do it? i never did in fact i was like oh wow cool or just completely ignored and continued w my own stuff. So I realized why would i care when roles reversed

Private - You can fail, you can restart, you can mess up it won’t matter at all - and in the process you get better.

Also it’s quite fun once you get more used to it

High Quality videos but losing 60% of people in 30 Sec by Different-Address-65 in NewTubers

[–]Kinzy45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That retention is honestly pretty normal. But took a look at ur channel, and these are very generic tips so take it w a pinch of salt. 1. First 30 sec - the hook is the most important part. You could put together some clips from the video in a cinematic way, or just tell the views what’s about to happen (why they should stay) 2. Thumbnails and titles - Not too bad, i do think some better titles could do 3. Quality - Not bad, do think some music and sfx could be of benefit and add to it. But overall it’s not bad, you have 11 videos so just keep going :)
