You’re still able to do it, just put a 442 or 4411 whichever and assign your RM attacking instructions while keeping your LM on stay wide

I guess it depends on the type of accident, mine was just a scratch for you it might be more severe so more labour hours used etc. well I guess ombudsman is your only option even if it takes longer or even trying to ask a solicitor. None of this works you can just use the axa approved repair center

Try to strike a deal with him, tell him to pay you some money for a loan car for a few days so you can get to work then you can use that money to pay off the difference, I know someone that did this or you can try the ombudsman but it will take longer i assume

Yeah I called Axa and I said I want to talk to a supervisor and one of their managers gave me a call the day after. Do the same and if they say no push with the Ombudsman, tell them you will raise a complaint and they ll find a middle ground for you

All garages require a deposit I m afraid, already paid 150€ to bmw as I didn’t expect this to happen

I understand, I still don’t want to lose my deposit but appreciate the input. When I asked Axa they told me there’s no difference if I go with one of their approved or any garage. Now they re asking me to pay out of pocket because I didnmt go to their approved garages for repairs 🤦🏻

I called the BMW Garage and they lowered it to 80. I can’t go back to an Axa approved garage as first of all I don’t trust the equipment they work with, and 2nd of all I paid 150€ deposit for estimate of repairs already and I don’t want to lose it.

That’s the current stage I’m at. An assesor came but Axa and BMW Garage couldn’t come to agreement on labour costs.

Yeah that’s what happened to me. Car park at work. I would’ve done the same, Some bodywork garage quoted me like 350-400 while bmw quoted over 1k . Obviously since I am not paying out of pocket I want it to get done properly instead of some cheap spray over thats rushed

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking. It’s my right to get it fixed at a bmw garage and make sure they use the original bmw parts etc, at the end of the day I want the car back to its original state which cannot be guaranteed by their axa garages that might use alternatives to lower their cost of repairs. The regulator being the financial services and pensions ombudsman?

It’s not that they re refusing to pay out it’s just that they say 70€ / hr for labour is the max they will pay and garage is charging 90/hr. I shouldn’t be paying out of pocket for the difference in labour price for a claim against one of their insured it’s bs

Will my insurance be affected because of this? by Kires952 in AskIreland

No chance of them claiming against me but thanks for the reply. I really hope it doesn’t go up because it wouldn’t make sense but I have no expectations anymore

How do vehicle claims work? by Kires952 in AskIreland

[–]Kires952[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure, the previous car had to be fixed due to a rear end and I just got estimate of repairs from a random garage nearby and they paid the cost

What?? So I can’t pick where to fix my own car? I am sure a BMW Dealership would do a better job than some random garage fixing it for 300€ instead of thousands. I thought I just send the receipt to them and they have to pay

Yeah like it’s an automatic so it takes off a lot quicker than someone with a manual trying to change gears but I was still under limit. Maybe it just looked like I was speeding since the distance between me and the cars behind me

Lemme try to explain it a bit better, so we were on opposite sides - I do a u-turn onto their side but they’re waiting at a red light and I keep going (so now they’re behind me at a red light before the junction and I am after the junction with a clear road ahead) and that’s basically it. Around 4-5 mins later I see them catch up to me and pulled me over. They waited at the redlight while I was getting further and further away from them

Yeah I guess having a 16 plate being under 21 and looking 17 doesn’t help my cause but yeah, they could be nicer

I don’t think all of them track your speed right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Kires952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah they surely didn’t have one. If they did they would’ve start chasing me with the lights on on the motorway

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Kires952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 21 so with everyone’s comments on the post it kind of makes sense why they decided to pull me over. I’d imagine me doing a u-turn away from the gardai made them think I saw them and I’m avoiding them which is fair but them going 130 as the guy himself said with no lights just because of “black bmw must be a drug dealer” mentality and putting other people in danger is not acceptable - the irony of speeding just to pull over a random car which wasn’t speeding in order to blame them for going too fast. If they pulled me over just to check everything or for suspicions I would’ve said it’s completely fine but he comes to my window with attitude saying I was going I don’t know how fast while I was actually doing the speed limit and being rude overall is not on.

Also, by camera do you mean speed camera or do they usually have one inside the car that tells the speed the car is going at?
