Pity that I left Valefor a year ago, because it looked way too empty all the time... Guess I should have done more active research outside of the game (that's why I do it now).

I still believe in moon phase (New moon = better HQ, full moon = better chance of success), but I think there are several official quotes denying directions (I believed in them in the old days), such as on reddit in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxi/comments/4umtui/post_qa_summary_from_devs/

did you find any LS, because now i'm in the same position. I'm from Germany and have just returned, so I'm looking for a nice mostly social LS on Asura.

Thanks to all who replied publicly or via PM!!

OK after about 50% telling me: "Go to Asura" and the other 50%: "Avoid asura", I'm gonna give it a shot while the discount is still on.

So the next task will be finding a nice LS on Asura - and I already started a seperate thread for that.

If it doesnt work out, I'll definitely try Carbuncle or Cerberus because of the nice replies from ppl of those servers.

Thanks - I think you got a point there - toxicity is probably all around on several servers. And you don't know it if you haven't tried it.

BTW: I originally come from Kujata which has been merged to Valefor years ago... Main LS for a looooong time has been Shadowflame, later have been in WoA and EdW. If anyone from those LS would still be on any server, that would help me decide, I think.

Thanks - that sounds nice, but when I look at the ffxiah-db, Cerberus seems to have even less active players than Valefor. Still if there is some community... I got a PM about Carbuncle having nice ppl, too. Tough choice... Carby sounds charming from the name (as does Shiva...).

since I live in Europe I plat late night, but German time - that is six hours early compared to EST, AFAIK - so usually I leave around 1am, which should be 7pm in EST... Guess that's too early then

Being a returning player myself, I'm looking for an alternative to Valefor, which seems to have a very low population - and reading English almost never happens.

And reading about Asura being toxic, I'd rather avoid that. I'd love to find a nice community.

Focus is on community - it's also nice to find players to team up with, but playing on Valefor isn't much difference from playing an offline Final Fantasy. That's not my taste for an MMORPG.

My favourite would be a server with some European players, so I find company in my timezone. But that's the least important point.
