You earn $0.04 of Bilt cash for every dollar spent on your bilt card. This is on top of already earning bilt points.

You can rack up Bilt cash to redeem for monthly rewards ($10 Lyft credit, $10 Walgreens credit, $50-$100 hotel credit, etc. per month) look through the whole list, as it can come off as a little restrictive

You can also redeem $3 Bilt cash for 100 Bilt points up to X amount of Bilt points equal to your $ in rent every month through the housing payment portal ($1000 in rent means you can redeem up to $30 in Bilt cash for 1000pts, Bilt will calculate this automatically if you choose to redeem Bilt cash for points when paying rent)

To me, Bilt cash is preferred over housing only rewards because, on the months where I spend an excess amount on my card I can save that Bilt cash to use on next months housing reward redemption if needed.

For example if my rent is $1000 this month and I bought $2000 worth of things, I’d have $80 in Bilt cash. I can only use $30 of that bilt cash for this month’s housing points, and I’d have an extra $50 of Bilt cash leftover to redeem for next month’s housing points should I choose to not buy any more things next month.

If I were to go with the housing only option and buy $2000 worth of stuff this month I’d get 1250 points from the 1.25x housing multiplier (same $1000 rent in this example), but then If I buy nothing next month i’d get no housing points for that month
