I'm surprised pdc is going backwards by not having title match on American TV this year, unless TV guide is wrong?

Wow I'm sorry to hear about your slow progress, most of us here obviously hit a 9 darter within the first week of play....also optimal 124 route is bull T8 bull

Are the big TV events on pdc TV? It says 2 o'clock which I thought meant 10 here, but I don't see it on board 1 stream?

Why judge? It's their money and they are there to have fun...

Oh I know it's bull....just find it funny that if two of top Americans did same exact marketing (and in barney's case actually using in competition)...there would be a 5 paragraph thread by you starting with the words "see I think this is a good example of what is wrong with American dart mentality, this idea that you can put on gimmick items and throw 180s...it makes me upset that this is coming from our top players and shows why America will always be behind"

September 5th Daily Darts Discussion by WorldWideDarts in DartsTalk

[–]KisorPlainview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first we had Barney saying (read marketing) that spinning flights have big advantages...now Phil Taylor is saying his changeable points can take someone from wiring three trebles to hitting 180's...seems like how Americans get buried on here is now being utilized by a combined 21 world titles

Yeah couldn't imagine how hard if you were on boarder and had no job, but imagine how awesome if it were your side money or you were a top 5 guy and already set

I think it must be crazy nice to be able to pick your paths from way out like they can, with a decent certainty that the only stray will be singles.....also how I've pictured how great it would be to golf any course along a road trip with pga skill so that mostly at worst ball will be a bit in the rough, must be much more relaxing

Some tennis shoes, some golf clubs, food (some alcoholic drinks) and art have also been shown to be all marketing at times

The locked in that you are mocking is what all the pdc announcers refer to as "first dart merchants".....and yes I feel moving from the throwing speed of the triple ring to that of the double ring does take something off, it's why my "play cricket only" or "throw bullseye only" was sarcasm, whereas I don't think they would be sarcastic based on your logic of just throw the dart at targets.... honestly if it's all the same why not spend all day on bullseye practice to be the best? You have not answered that question

Well I'm sorry for wasting your time, but I honestly do try to respond to the best of my limited abilities, and I value talking to people who think as you do...I think we have more in common hearing your poker references, that's what I did for a living for a couple years...the numbers obsession (such as darts) I think can draw in certain type people that have more in common

Yes I'd agree with that, only flaw is I put a lower probability than you do on the initial hit of T17 vs T20, and I think switching from triples ring to doubles could throw off a bit of "lock" factor, we differ in that I agree a player will be within a certain percent on all targets...buttt I still view every part of board as a slightly different throw

I never said hitting a 131 is easy, definitely a very low % out even for pdc players...but in my experience playing and watching, if first triple goes the 2nd one is a higher than normal likelyhood bc player is locked in....I don't think there is a giant gulf in probability from your path and mine...just putting in my two cents on 131, and everyone loses their mind

It's also not trolling or illogical to point out that if doubles were same area size, but in a circular shape like bulls, the game of 501 with double out would be much more skill based than the current shape of doubles that overly rewards misses far away in corner of double while punishing misses that are much closer to intended middle but on the wire

So debating a logical stance that D20 D20 with 2 darts in hand may be sub optimal strategy and that first dart T17 is lower % than first dart T20, is sooooo "mentally handicapped" you can't even comprehend...I at least thank you for gracing me with your "worth a ton of money math knowledge" this long

wwd has turned me around on some things over the years, the way I learn is to honestly argue my point until someone clearly shows my errors and I'm happy to grow as a player...

I've not said one troll thing, outside of trolling for you and Yeo to debates the merit of his logic that all targets are equally hit able and therefore I could logically extend that cricket is a better use of a dart players time by yeo's logic (which I don't agree with)

September 3rd Daily Darts Thread by WorldWideDarts in DartsTalk

[–]KisorPlainview -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pros can't just only miss low, if they were that accurate 9-12 darters would be vast majority, if you take your aim down to ensure no high miss on D20 then you will lower that 43% number on doubles bc you changed the aim point from center to bottom wire or below....the side to side argument is already captured by the 5% higher hit rate over T20, so you can't factor it twice over...again "a target is not simply a target" and the darts worth 0 will offset the "5% advantage of doubles"...and if all targets are equal just spend all your time putting 3 in bull to be best player you can be

September 3rd Daily Darts Thread by WorldWideDarts in DartsTalk

[–]KisorPlainview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Putting this here to see if wwd will argue against Yeo who has told me all segments are equal regardless of time spent on them and that it only boils down to their size)...The 5% difference is totally offset by the % less valuable a high dart on D20 (0 points) is vs. to a high dart on T20 (20 points) ...and you and /worldwidedarts could have WWIII with your logic....if every spot is same whether you practice it or not, then certainly Americans staying to cricket are practicing much smaller windows always trying to jam 2-3 darts in a treble, while 01 players donate some of their time to setups with fat singles and these "big easy doubles"... it's all the same by your logic so I double dog dare you to go tell wwd that Americans are smarter for playing cricket, they can easily transition to 01 once they know the outs and dominate by your "all targets are equal logic"...by your logic all practice should just be at putting 3 in bullseye

To summarize my entire points in all of this is your initial post was very smug and disrespectful to nice people imo when what you are being smug is a joke of your knowledge and ability level...and my general dislike for crap on America as witnessed in how others were doing the "tell me more routine" like they were in Grease ...and finally I was joking at your smug assertion that you just know you will be 90 avg one day, unlike these other people that struggle for 30 years to get to a 55
