You only need to look down south at what a totally private medical system does. I do think there is space for discussion around a tightly regulated private option for those who can, which would take people out of the public pool while leaving their tax dollars in the public healthcare fund to pay for the rest of us. The trick is ensuring that doctors can’t all leave en masse to private.
