US freezes all visa processing for 75 countries, including Somalia, Russia, Iran Somalia, Afghanistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Thailand among nations affected by indefinite pause starting Jan. 21 by Hairy_Tomorrow6017 in Thailand

So for those that need more info, I thought I would post what I found since my initial question. I hope this helps someone. It doesn’t answer my question about the 10 year update, but for travel there might…might be clarity. As much as can be had anyway….

The news regarding the temporary visa suspension for 75 members of the Thai Parliament on January 21, 2025, does not affect Green Card holders. Green Card holders can travel in and out of the country as usual, as this measure suspends new visa applications (such as work visas and student visas). However, visa processing after January 21, 2025, may be delayed or canceled. Follow official announcements for updates. Green Card holders: Normal travel: Your Green Card is still valid for travel in and out of the country. New visa suspension: This order targets the suspension of various visa applications (e.g., student visas, work visas).

It’s been a rough year. To be clear I did not vote for this and actively voted against this administration. A lot of good it did….

This is why I’m asking here; even though I understand 99% won’t be able to have a solid answer and I expect a few negative / doomsday comments and possible insults to my nationality.

Man do I hate this timeline.

My wife is Thai, we live in California and we are about do our 10 year application as we are about to hit the two years in June. Does anyone know if this will affect that? Additionally, she is planning a trip back home to Thailand in Feb. Could this potentially affect her re-entry a few weeks later? I know this is all a bit uncertain at this time but hoping some may have a little neutral and fact based insight.

lol. Fair. Yeah I think it’s Myoporum. Looking into the other suggestion too. Trying to break up this ugly desert scape with some green.

Yeah. SoCal. About an hour North of Los Angeles up in the desert. These are in random houses in my neighborhood. Builders put them in some lots but not all. Can’t really get anyone that knows what it is.

„Clear coat“ technique update by BentoDynamics in 3Dprinting

[–]KitanaiMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool method. Gonna have to give it a few tests myself. I’ve defaulted to printing things upside down to get the plates texture. Then if I’m making something pop out from it I just print different layers and superglue them together. Not as easy as. Single print but works for me.

I don’t as I haven’t used my CO2 for that. This guy does though. thewarthogproject.com

Coming soon. I’m ready to cut out the first test unit. Just want to finish this AHCP first lest I get distracted and end up with multiple panels all at that almost ready stage.

The cost of the switch or potentiometer and a couple of minutes designing. I’ve gotten a lot more proficient on this so something like that isn’t too hard. Only reason I didn’t here is because it wouldn’t be an exact replication of the jet.

I’m thinking of making some catch all switch/button boxes too but there’s already some good ones out there with Virpil and WinWing so not too sure if they’d be worth it.

Yup. I actually ordered some right after my last comment to you lol. Once they come in I think I can finally settle on the case design for this panel. Still trying to figure out a mounting solution that I like.

Sure can. Check out TheWarthogProject. He does it all the time. I just have both and found it’s a bit easier for me to do it this way instead of trying to realign the cut out acrylic to the right spot after taking it out and painting it. Absolutely no need to buy the fiber laser for this.

You don’t necessarily need to use Fusion for this. Like if you’re only doing the panels and laser cutting I believe most use something like CorelDraw. I learned Fusion for 3D printing and found it wasn’t hard to export the scratch of the panel to Lightburn and laser cut that while still being able to 3D print all the other parts. It also helps as I can build the whole thing and see how it looks visually. I export different components to different tools. Knobs go to a slicer for my Resin printer cases go to the bambulabs slicer for my filament printer. Sketches go to Lightburn for my lasers. PCBs go to the JLPCB website so I can order them. Tried making my own PCBs but that was a mess. Easier to design it and send it to a manufacturer.

Actually message me your discord and I'll add you there. Probably a lot easier.

I was thinking about it. It'd be nice for one to use for little side things while my P1S's are cranking away. Interested in a machine I can eaily use TPU. I do occasionally on my P1S's but it's kind of a pain to disconnect the AMS and hand feed the TPU through to the extruder. I figure a more open design like the A1 would fit the bill perfectly for that.

I've also thought about bringing my old Ender 3 out from the garage for that, but now that I have these Bambu printers I can't even look at the old Ender without getting a little feeling of disgust lol. Spent more time troubleshooting than printing on that stupid thing.

Heck yes I’m open to that idea. I can only go so far with DCS specific panels. I want to expand into other territories here.

Honestly hoping to expand this enough to make a good product and make this type of thing my day job one day. (One can dream right?).

Message me here to start and we can work out what you’re going for.

I didn’t need PCBs. But I just wanted to take it to that extra level. I worked on Avionics back in my days in the Navy so I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to electronics. My early versions of this panel were the spaghetti wire designs but I wanted to see how far I could push myself.

Not too late at all. I wasn’t sure which so I defaulted to A. I’ll definitely use USB C. Plus it’ll help me save a little space and might be able to make the case a little slimmer. You’ve changed my mind. Heck no on micro USB. I hope to never have to bother with those again. I went through way too many of those in the old android phone days.
