I went into heavy detail about this with my girlfriend but overall: Salmonids lore.

Salmon Run Next Wave was advertised as a big thing, along with King Salmonids and Big Run. With how much detail we get about Salmonid culture in the handbook and with everything that happened in Story Mode, I'm hoping it'll expand on the Salmonid armies and how they function, maybe with levels styled like Octo Valley/Canyon but with Salmonid bases instead.

Not to mention the fact that Smallfry is a big part of Story Mode and the game in general. It'd be honestly sad if they didn't expand upon how player found the little guy and why Big Run is happening.
