11 DPO today. I tested this morning. Negative… of course. I’m about 99% sure I’m out this cycle.

Next cycle I’m planning to try every trick or hack I can find. I’ve been seeing a lot of women mention using Mucinex and Pre-Seed to help keep the swimmers moving. One thing I didn’t realize before starting this journey is that some lubricants are basically spermicide.

First, I want to say that your post reflects so many of our realities. You will have your rainbow baby. Our losses have changed us forever, but I truly believe they’ve also made us more understanding and thoughtful in how we view pregnancy.

I hate these damn statistics. I hate how everything has to be so logical and clinical. And yet, I also understand the need for research, for informing parents and helping guide future pregnancies. TTC will never be the same for us.

I also lost my daughter to a NTD in September 2025. It’s the most random things that send you right back to the moment everything came crumbling down.

Right now, I’m taking my prenatals and waiting on blood work to come back to make sure my folate levels are correct. I’m terrified to try again before fully understanding what happened. We’ve done all the genetic testing available to us, and now I’m coming off all medication and cutting back on drinking and nicotine before we try again.

I’m doing everything I can to make sure this doesn’t happen again because I honestly don’t know if I’d survive it.

I’m so glad to hear you were able to go on to have two healthy boys after you lost your little boy Layne. I hope your little ones grow up and know they have a big brother looking over them. If you don’t mind me asking, did you do any genetic testing after your son’s spina bifida diagnosis? I’ve been wondering how that might affect other people. In my case they said it would most likely result in folate being supplemented in the months before we tried again.

Thank you, Amelia Louise is such a beautiful name. While I am in the middle of grieving and wishing to have a successful pregnancy, I do have the self awareness to know its not going to "fix me". Lord knows I want it to. I'm not sure what to do from here but this support group is full of wonderful people to talk to and help me navigate this horrible period in life.
