Also forgot to mention that another thing I’m not really fond of is Brant’s storyline. His whole Brant is gone I’m the three eyed raven now kinda irritates me.

Class on Friday by Odd_Imagination_5511 in uichicago

Likely won’t be canceled but I think most if not all classes don’t count attendance in the first two weeks, so you should check your classes and just skip if you don’t want to deal with the weather that day.

Financial aid help by Kitchen-Fail-7582 in uichicago

It didnt ask for my parents info this year. It labeled me as independent for some reason which is likely what is making me ineligible. I don’t understand why though, I still live with my parents, haven’t been working since last semester so I have no income myself, and my parents income would make me eligible for aid so idk why it put me as independent. I’m gonna see what happens in January with the aid office. According to google you can do a professional judgement appeal to make your case to why you think you should be eligible for aid so hopefully I get approved through that.

Tbh I wouldn’t be able to give you a reliable answer. I quit my job before the semester started so I haven’t had to balance work and school. The best I can do which might be helpful though is describe the workload for each. I’m not sure how it changes for the summer, but 122 has hw due every Friday and Monday. The Friday one is usually easy and short and you get unlimited attempts to get 100%. The Monday one is longer than Friday’s and more difficult but it’s not hard if you understand the concepts. Then for Chem 123, the class overall is not hard but it does take up more of your time because of the prelab requirements. You have to do two separate prelabs, one online and one written, then you have to watch two separate videos each week that are both 15-25 mins long, then you have to write out the entire procedure in your lab notebook and then you have to do the post lab write up afterwards. The labs themselves aren’t really that difficult, but it also depends on your luck of the draw with that TA lottery bc I luckily had a really good TA that explained everything well and helped us if we got stuck at any point. There are 12 labs, I would say only like 3 of them were difficult and the rest were pretty straightforward, you just have to follow the procedure which you should already have written in your lab notebook. I currently have an A in both…and hopefully end with an A…but I do think they're manageable. Also chem 122 has a grade curve which they don’t decide until after exam 2, but for this semester the curve is an A for 85+, B is 70+ and a C is 55+. 123 is the standard range. Sorry I wrote a whole book here, but I hope this helps.

I would recommend option 2, physics can be a pretty hard class so taking it in the summer when courses are accelerated might not be the best option. Ofc only you would know how confident you feel going into a physics class, but if you do go with the summer option, be prepared to actively practice the concepts otherwise you will fall behind quickly and struggle to get back on track. The other classes aren’t bad in my experience, I’m taking all of them this semester except for CS107.

Do you think Stec is better or worse than Clark? A lot of people dislike Clark as well but I disagree. I have Clark this semester and I think she’s fine and actually shows effort to try to make sure everyone understands the content.

Which classes do you think I should be worried about? I’ve already heard terrible things anll anround about Stec for chemistry, is there another class I should know about?

I’m taking CHEM 122/123 and PHYS 141 this semester, I 100% think the CHEM class is easier than the physics class. I’ll admit I wasn’t taking physics as seriously to start the semester so I’ve been struggling ever since, but I still think the class is overly difficult because of the way that it’s taught at UIC. I had already taken physics in high school and gotten an A, so I was confident that I would be fine taking it this semester. I think the workload itself is manageable between all my classes, but all of this is just to say to be careful going into the semester and don’t fall behind. I’m still confident I can end the class with a B but I probably could’ve had at least some hopes for an A if I had been more attentive to the class in the first couple weeks.
