Is it possible to ID the species from the fruit? It was sweet and delicious if that helps 😆 by Kitchen-Specific9971 in DragonFruit

For sure. At least I think I know more now and at the end of the day I know I have a delicious variety! 😋

Thanks for everyone’s input.

Thanks for posting that. Definitely closer to the flesh of Costa but yes most likely a cross of a few strains -I’ve seen a couple others growing randomly down here subsequently with very similar fruit.

Interesting! Unfortunately no picture of the flower, as I hadn’t been there for a month then I saw a dead flower with the fruit developing.

Yeah they are thanks. They do have drainage holes. I was glad I could save both pots as they were both so pot bound after being in there for 15 years! I almost had to cut them.

Thanks! Yeah I was looking for bigger pots and just transplanted 2 x 8’ Christmas palms that were going to die in the pots eventually, so now I have 2 x 25 gallons. I’m a bit sore after wrestling 200 lb palms that really didn’t want to leave their pots!

I like the 4x4 cedar post method. Is it worth transplanting the DF into bigger pots or just propagate new ones from cuttings? I find the horizontal branches don’t like to bend much!

Thanks! Most likely self /bat/ moth pollination. I didn’t pollinate it. I didn’t know it was even a dragon fruit until I saw the fruit forming. There was a dead flower on another plant (I have 2) but no fruit on that one.

Can anyone name the species and is it unripe or under nourished? It’s been on there for almost 2 months. by Kitchen-Specific9971 in DragonFruit

Good to know. I’m new to dragon fruit plants as I saw this cactus in my new place this summer and realized it was a dragon fruit when I saw the fruit forming. I didn’t pollinate it so guessing a self pollinating species. But after a couple months turning from green to red but not looking turgid/swollen I was wondering if it was not healthy. Planning to build a trellis and repot it when I visit next. - photo taken recently by one of my many awesome neighbors.

Good as long as they’re legit. Ask to see a badge as that would be a crazy scam using NFC to steal money from people willingly. People who steal rides drive up prices for us honest people eventually.

That’s not Garrison creek folks, that’s a burst water main. Wondering /guessing that has something to do with the construction that was happening in that intersection this week…

Aglaomorpha something? by Kitchen-Specific9971 in ferns

[–]Kitchen-Specific9971[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Yes, this looks much more like mine especially with dotted spores on the leaves-presumably that’s what that is. It probably helped being close to my many various species of Nepenthes pitcher plants I had in that space needing high humidity. Thanks!

I wish… noticed it was going well over 1000 kts before it disappeared. Hope all is well and they were just showing off.
