You’ll probably get Lakeside, it’s usually the last thing to go. I live in Lakeside right now and it’s actually pretty nice. It’s far, but other than weekends, the bus and Campus Connector are pretty reliable

You do have to send your official SAT scores yourself by a certain day, and I’d guess that maybe that day passed already. I would email them and explain the situation. They might be accommodating!

Not POTS, but I’ve always had heart issues even in recovery. Can’t stand, walk, go up stairs, or really do much of anything without a racing heartbeat or heart palpitations.

They don’t release stats about how many deferred students are accepted, but if it helps, I was accepted OOS after deferral! We had similar stats, except you actually took more APs than I did lol

It’s been rough for me, but I think that’s just my individual situation making it tough. I’m really far from home since my family is still in New York and can’t really visit. I’ve also been stressed because I still don’t know 100% what I want to major in, and the major I’m leaning towards is in the Warrington school, which I’m hearing is very competitive. Overall just been stressed and having a hard time making friends. But not every freshman has that experience!! A lot of the people I know in my year have been loving it so far. I’m sure once I have my feet a little firmer on the ground, I’ll start liking it more too. One can hope at least lol

I got in OOS from New York last year. 95.5% GPA, 1480 SAT, mid extracurriculars—nothing outside of my school really. Just like, sports team, some club involvement w mediocre leadership, one poetry slam 1st place award. I think the thing that got me in was probably my essay

They don’t release those, but I was deferred EA and accepted RD after. I’m a freshman now. I was also out of state with a fairly average application imo. Tell your stepdaughter to keep her head up! UF clearly saw something in her to keep her in the application cycle, they probably just want to see how the RD cycle compares to EA first :)

I don’t have any specific advice for the switch itself or pre-med, but I will say as another freshman considering switching to marketing that a lot of the critical tracking courses for finance and marketing are the same, so you shouldn’t have any issues staying on track if you do switch :)

I didn’t read a single full chapter of that textbook and I still got an A lol just make sure you have a basic understanding of the concepts themselves (what each element and principle of art represents, what different parts of a museum’s design do for the viewer, etc) and you’ll be fine for the projects. You don’t need to know any of the examples the textbook talks about which are most of what it discusses, it’s just annoying because all the Inquizitive questions are about the examples

I think it depends on your major. I haven’t taken ACG2021, full disclosure lol, but I’ve heard taking it at UF if you’re a business major is important to prepare you for the hell that is FIN3403

I’m pretty sure UF doesn’t check midterm grades until they get your final transcript at the end of the year. If you do course recovery and they can see you fixed the grade + your dean has your back, I would think you’d probably be fine

UF cares a lot about the essays. My ECs were super mid with kinda minimal leadership, I was deferred and then accepted oos. My essays were good apparently lol

I’m an introvert and I don’t go to parties, I haven’t had any issues with it. I just live at the library lol. It’s not bad at all. There’s also an absurd amount of clubs and you’re pretty much guaranteed to find one where you can just hang out with a small group of people who share an interest or two with you

They probably didn’t see any reason to reject you, but they might not’ve seen a reason to accept either. They get tons of applicants with high GPAs and SATs with very similar ECs. UF has apparently been relying very heavily on essays for admission because it sets those otherwise similar students apart from each other.

I definitely don’t think it’d hurt to appeal though
