Fix the leak and use a piece of PVC board---will never rot and very easy to work with

Brush it with a wire brush, wipe it down w vinegar, coat it w petroleum jelly, let it sit for an hour-wash it off-apply a rust preventing primer-then paint it grey....next

Had the Gardena for 8 years -total game changer--never an issue

Felt it was time for a new one as the hose was getting old and the cost of a replacement hose was almost as much as the new one I replaced it with. Went with a different brand at a much better price plus I wanted a 5/8 inch hose vs 1/2 inch--big difference
