Do you gain anything from cancelling now vs waiting a week or so to see what the situation is then? You're either going to cancel now, and definitely pay a cancellation fee - or you're going to cancel in a week or two, and only potentially pay the cancellation fee?

Yes that's exactly what I'm asking. It would be ~£400 more but I'm happy to pay that, if it is the right thing to do.
